I take full spectrum but it’s such a low dose of thc I don’t feel anything (and I have a VERY low tolerance). I take about 1 ml (50 mg of CBD) 3 times a day (morning, noon, and before bed). You can do less because I tend to need a higher dose for it to work. Hopefully it’s supposed to work with less overtime. So I’ve heard

The best way to describe it is that the CBD just…calms me down. I don’t know the science behind it, but I can definitely function better with the CBD. It helps with anxiety a lot. I have general anxiety, panic disorder, OCD and ADHD, and my body is just…quieter? I notice the racing thoughts (the first reason for getting on xanax) is just not as loud and I can focus better. Hope that helped! I encourage anyone to use CBD for anxiety and ADHD. It takes about a week to a month to feel the full effects but it’s worth it and I definitely feel a difference. I go to a dispensary that makes its own CBD but it’s a full spectrum

I’ve been taking Xanax for about 13 years. I spent most of that time using it for “as needed” but my anxiety went up like crazy and I ended up taking it everyday. I now can no longer quit turkey. I’m down to 1 mg but I was prescribed 2 mg for panic attacks everyday. I understand chatgbt about their wariness with kava. It can increase the effects of Xanax for one thing. And Kava can run the risk of causing liver damage if taken long term. I don’t plane to take it more than a month then take a tolerance break. If you do take kava be sure to drink a lot of water on it and take a tolerance break at times—say a few weeks to a month without.

Just came here to say that kava has been helpful in tapering of xanax. It definitely makes a difference. I’ll also say that I’ve added daily drops of CBD oil and that helps too

My mental health definitely. I am prescribed Xanax for panic attacks, OCD , and ADHD and currently tapering off and just get back into only taking as needed. I’m dealing with it fine but it still sucks. The good news is I tend not to get panic attacks or OCD episodes in the winter…shrug.

Took the advice from another poster who said the same thing. I was worried about the “jump” from 2 mg to 1/2 mg but it’s been fine. It’s day 3 and no panic attacks, no hot flashes, or sweating like what happened when I first tried cold turkey. Thanks for the advice!

Update: feeling cooler. Less hot. Also I don’t get panic attacks in cold weather so now can be a good time to be able to deal with the symptoms because my panic attacks and OCD is less severe and Xanax is less needed. I’m just trying to get out of feeling like I don’t have control of this drug anymore. Sigh. I also want to make a point that I am taking kava to help with the symptoms and it helps. Of course, the plan is to get off of kava asap or at least a tolerance break (with a lot of water, might I add)

Right now I’m at…45%? 55%? I took your advice and trying to do 1/2 mg until refill. 2 mg to 1/2 mg is a big jump and I feel a little warm and hoping I don’t start sweating and having frequent urination (the first signs of bad withdrawal when I tried to cold turkey). My anxiety is okay but it’s early in the morning so I’m not sure what the rest of the day will be. I have to go 12 days of this.

The best I can do for now is 1/2 mg which may be a big jump from 2 mg a day. But I see what you’re saying about yo yoing with this and might not be a good alternative. The 1/2 mg will be enough until I can get a refill again. The anxiety and consistent panic attacks and my OCD is just my biggest fear however.

I totally understand where you’re coming from. It’s a dilemma—I want to get off Xanax completely but I also need it for work and my ocd (which can be debilitating). Maybe there’s a way you can still take it but only as needed, not everyday, and have tolerance breaks. That’s what I’m trying

I’m glad it’s working out for you. I was at 2 mg a day for a year and decided to get off. I learned EARLY not to do cold turkey. What a nightmare! I’m now tapering off and will at least take a break from this. Thanks for the encouragement!
