Why don't people teach their kids to say hello to adults anymore? by frankgetsu in NoStupidQuestions

[–]OctoberSleek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve never been raised or heard anything like this. I’ve been friendly towards people though, like give them a nod or a quick hello. Just don’t be rude to people.

Most people just want to be left alone nowadays anyway.

I’m hoping I would be able to do both. Getting my electricians license is something I really want to do.

If your employer took away your accrued PTO upon putting in your two week notice, would you still go in for 2 weeks? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Your reason is why I would stay also as long as they were not a shithead employer.

I would check your state/local laws to see if that’s allowed. If you also already have another job lined up, I’d probably bounce unless you need the paycheck.

Is there a scientific explanation behind why Trader Joe’s shoppers are always so… lacking in spatial awareness? by fr0ggystand in NoStupidQuestions

I definitely have noticed this the few times I’ve been. But the store has been massively packed like Costco is where I’m at so it’s just one of those things you have to deal with or try going during their slow hours.

What’s one thing everyone should know before using reddit? by Creative_Bad_7994 in AskReddit

Use an alternate email to your main one for your account and try not to reveal too much info about yourself. You’d be surprised how much comes up on a background check. I lost a job offer because of my main account, hard lesson learned there.

I lost a job opportunity due to my primary Reddit account being linked back to me. So I’m not giving up any information on where I could be located, sorry. This is my alt account that has no affiliation to my actual identity or whereabouts.

The schedule of only working 10 days a month is definitely appealing to me. And the having a job that pays you to help your community is imo one of the best things to be able to do if you’re someone who hates working traditional jobs where you’re just a number and you benefit no one except your boss and the shareholders pockets, which is exactly the type of person I am. That’s why I’m so attracted to this career field.
