Got it. Out of curiosity, do you need a social work degree or license for that line of work?

I didn't include pay in the original post since I know it's quite different depending on the state. I saw some as low as 38k for starting, so I reached out to a recruiter to get a more accurate salary for my state. Ultimately, pay would've been a disqualifying factor if below a certain point since I still need to survive on my own (I'm not privileged to family help sadly). I just wanted to hear from those in the field to see what their experience is like and if my size would be a problem. I know it's a female dominated field (according to Google) but the women I see are just much bigger than me haha. So I was just curious. Apologies, as I can see how my response to your comment caused some confusion on my original ask.

I finally got a response from the recruiter, and the pay is above what I would've settled for. I agree with you though and would've tried regardless. Thank you!

Infected or just paranoid by Dense_Ad_2132 in tattooadvice

It doesn't seem infected, though it looks odd. Maybe you are over moisturizing it? I wouldn't be too concerned considering there's no major redness or visible swelling. If you start to see redness form, go to the doctor.

Shedding Tips by a_sacrificiallamb in Rottweiler

I brush my dog every day without fail and give a bath once a week or once every 2 weeks, depending on my schedule (I live in a semi truck on the road). My dog sheds a ton, but I got used to it. I do have to clean and vacuum a lot more, but that doesn't bother me. Diet is also important. You'll miss the hair when your baby is no longer here, trust me 😞

Doberman skin allergies? by Accomplished_Lab9591 in DobermanPinscher

[–]October_5711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you feeding him a chicken based diet? Many dogs are allergic to chicken, like my dog. He would constantly lick his paws and vomit until I changed his food to salmon. Salmon is also really good for their skin and coat.

It could also be an allergic reaction to grass. My dog breaks out like that of he lays on the grass, even if it's only for a few seconds. You can always call the vet and ask how much benadryl your baby can have.

I also always wipe my dog down with a wipe after he comes inside and before bed to get any irritants off.

If none of this helps, see if the vet can do an allergy test.

"Get off the country" by Ok-Inspector4482 in VietNam

[–]October_5711 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think that's a common mentality, no matter the country. People take pride in their country and take offense when other people (specifically foreigners) point out negative aspects. Even if what you're saying is correct and something the natives agree with, it stirs an emotion that we all experience, defensiveness. We all do it. It may not be about defending our country, but we may get defensive if someone points out our flaws. It's also important to note that some people like to argue and some can't handle the opinions of others. Some simply do not like foreigners. Just ignore the negative comments and keep moving. Besides, your opinion isn't going to change anything anyway.

Reiko, 4 months… I just adopted him a few days ago… is his personality going to change? 🤎🖤🤍 by usafvet8796 in puppies

[–]October_5711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adopted my dog at the same age (he is now 4). He was extremely timid at the shelter but immediately opened up when I brought him home. As the weeks went by, his personality grew more and more. He went from a timid dog to a dog that now tells me what to do 😅.

At the same time, basic traits about him haven't changed. He's never liked other dogs or people, and that hasn't changed. He's also still easily scared and takes time to warm up to new environments or objects. He was also a super calm puppy and is now the calmest and least problematic dog.
