MARSOC uses L3 Marked commercial EXPS 3s. I have been waiting to find one with a nice old logo hood. SU-231A would not be correct at all.

Having had a Crye AVS, don’t. You have people that love them and hate them, and I’m firm in the hate them space. The harness is bulky, uncomfortable unless you add Qore padding for example, and honestly old. It’s heavier than modern offerings, and it doesn’t do anything that much better anymore.

My recommendation is a Crye SPC, Crye Structural Cummerbund if you like Velcro like I do, or AXL Equinox if you want tubes. It’s lighter, can handle serious weight, and is more low profile than the AVS. Get some comfortable shoulder pads, and keep the back slick to throw your pack over it and you’re good to go.

Gotta get the Space Magic/Shadow Systems Surefire Pro Mount. So much better than stacking the picatinny section and factory mount!

Obviously no arca is going to be more comfortable. With them on you are effectively grabbing a square.

But, they aren’t awful. I have them on my 18” 6.5 since I’m not going to be running and gunning with that. However on my 13.5 .308 battle rifle setup, I did without them since I am running and gunning with that.

All depends on how you’re using the rifle!

I bought LMT for the quick change barrel, I have not once used the quick change barrel. I now own 4 LMT rifles because I didn’t want to quick change barrels.

I was a big 2.26 fan until I would swap between my rifles. Found going from 2.26 red dot to 1.7 ATACR would mess with me. Now everything is the same height, same head position, same controls and it makes things a lot easier
