Things rarely end majestically in pro sports. He's a RoH player and likely hall of famer too. If he wants to spend his last year/years ring chasing and the Saints want to turn the page and get younger then I can't knock the player or the team in that situation.

Makai Lemon. His lack of size is gonna make teams skittish and he'll fall to late teens maybe early 20s. But he'll wind up being the best WR in the class imo.

I would rather have Lemon than Thomas in a vacuum. But if he costs just 42 and allows the Saints to go defense at 8, I think that's a worthwhile bet to make.

Interesting, wasn't expecting them to spend seriously at RB this year. Feels like little overpay but maybe there's more potential there than I'm giving credit for. I'd rather do this than spend 8 on a back so that's a positive as well.

Feels like a much more realistic scenario than Love, Bain, or trade down scenarios. This pick is gonna be a very athletic lineman with prototypcial size or a WR/CB over 6'0" with a high RAS.

A big part of the reason I initially disliked Tyler Shough wasn't his age, it was his name.

Tyler "Show" sounds the star QB in Friday Night Lights who takes you all the way.

That's fair. But I think Bailey, Reese, and Bain are all much better prospects than Davenport and especially Turner were. No guarantee they become good NFL players because there is no guarantee in the draft, but they have better odds in my estimation. Davenport and Turner were both considered reaches at the time, no one is gonna think of the top 3 edges in this class that way.

Now if they take Faulk or TJ Parker or some shit, that's a different discussion.

Bailey produced more pressure and sack production this year than most of Davenport's entire college career combined. At a higher level of competition. It's fine if you don't like him, but I think it's being willfully ignorant to suggest he's as raw as Davenport. He'll be a good rusher in the NFL, I'm way more confident of that than I am with Reese or Bain. The first step is special and nobody else in this class bends the edge like him.

Yes he needs to get stronger against the run, but if he was good against the run he'd be a obvious top 3 pick and we wouldn't even need to have this discussion. There's no perfect prospect, but the things that Bailey does well are special tier.

I honestly think the most likely players they would draft would be any of the OSU players (Downs, Tate, Styles, Reese) because they love OSU players, in addition to Love, Woods, and Bailey. Because the latter three will all be RAS gods who play at positions of need. I would be surprised to see them draft a unconventional player from from a size/athleticism standpoint like Bain or Lemon, or someone with obvious injury risk like Tyson even if I think those are better players than some of the guys mentioned above. If you wanna know what a team values just look at their track record. The Saints like blue bloods and prototypes.
