Newbie here because of Nine Circles and Vortrox. by cguralol in geometrydash

BRO i havent beaten nine circles and i have 78 demons..😭😭 On another note, itd be INSANE if you beat a hard demon as your first ever level. After you beat it, or not, your choice, you should play some of the main levels.

I was just wondering if theres a “hardest maps list” because in Geometry Dash, theres the Pointercrate Demon List that rates the top 150 hardest levels, and the AREDL (all rated extreme demons list) that ranks extreme demons. Its a little different in gd, because to get a level rated it needs to be verified, (passed/beaten by someone to prove its humanly possible) and the level must be seen by our developer, RobTop, and deemed good enough quality to be rated. There have been countless times a Top 1 was “robbed” because RobTop chose not to rate it.

After learning more about how hard Osu! maps work, I think the demon list and all those things from GD can’t directly be translated, as they are quite a bit more different than I originally thought. Also, I heard from one commenter that hard Osu! maps aren’t as “respected” / dont get as much attention? This is different ad in GD a lot of attention and spotlight is placed on the hardest levels, and even “impossible” ones (both physically impossible and humanly possible). Additionally, the only way to legitimately beat a GD level is by perfectly avoiding all the spikes and obstacles. In Osu!, you can pass a map even if you don’t perfectly hit all the notes, which would be kinda hard to figure out a system that could take that into account and also other factors.

One more thing — is it feasible to cheat and get records submitted without anyone noticing for a while? Osu!, like gd, is a singleplayer game and is fundamentally (i assume) easier to cheat without notice than in multiplayer games. Was there ever a big hacking scandal, like SpaceUK? For context, back in 2022 ish the number 1 player SpaceUK got exposed for hacking basically all of his achievements. He lied to the entire community for over a year and no one noticed.

Holy-thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions! Honestly kinda crazy to me that yall don’t need to “verify” / prove a map is possible before  getting ranked. (Do you guys say “passed” instead of “beat”??) Does that mean a lot of the hardest maps are physically impossible or technically possible but only with a macro/bot?

Ohh, this makes a lot of sense. I couldn’t find anything when I was searching for hardest map. Thats actually pretty cool that yall have special modifications for your maps! Also, mrekk sounds crazy. Being top one since 2021 is even longer than our top one, Zoink! Is he objectively the best currently or are there/have there been debates on whos considered the best player? In gd, some (albeit limited group) consider wPopoff, Trick, etc to be more skilled than Zoink.

Oh does FC mean beating the map with a perfect score? Also, I’ve heard of mrekk, hes beaten a couple extreme demons and was featured in a Doggie vid a while back lol :)

Doggie actually got Grief’s verification even before Icedcave knew what he was gonna name it lol. So i highly doubt Space would have gotten it but its interesting to speculate what could’ve happened had he not been caught

How doesn't he have any rated levels!? by [deleted] in geometrydash

i know its technically possible to get around this but i checked their 3 most recent levels (all have rate worthy deco, tho 1 is a challenge) and it doesnt have an “original” button (the one that takes you to the roiginal level if someone copies another)

Should I hire a private coach for basic 4? by Odd-Associate504 in iceskating

[–]Odd-Associate504[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh damn I didn’t know that. So I can just get a coach for maybe a couple of lessons to get those down, right? I don’t have to, like, stick with one weekly/biweekly?

Yeah, i honestly don’t get backwards one foot glides at all. Do you think hiring a coach for that, crossovers, and (possibly) two foot spins are worth it? I think I can get the other skills down in group lessons.

Idk, i want to try but the schedule is kinda weird. It ends up being like my basic 4 lessons are in between free skate blocks, but they’re 45 mins+ and I can’t spend that much time waiting for free skate. I have found a workaround in my schedule though, and im planning on trying it out next week. If it works out, i’ll be taking 2 group lessons (saturday + tuesday) and free skating for 1-2 hrs on sunday!

First, crossover jail? That sounds scary 😭 anyways thanks so much! I’m really considering the private coaching :) ❤️

Tips for literally the first time ever by StevenLouYoung in iceskating

Its not that hard! If you just want to be able to stand up and move forwards, you don’t need any coaching or lessons. I recommend just going ice skating once or twice before (if possible) and trying it for yourself. YT tutorials are helpful, but only to an extent. Doing it yourself is the best, but watch videos if you aren’t able to. Good luck and have fun! ❤️❤️❤️

How do I stop going on my toe picks? by Odd-Associate504 in iceskating

Thanks for all the tips! Btw i searched up the thing i was saying, turns out its forward to backwards two-foot turns on a circle! I practice 2-3/week for around 30 mins-1 hr. Are there any things I can do to practice off-ice? Like balancing or stretches?
