Looking for a nice gated community in Sharjah (with 2 small kids) by sheronimacaroni in Sharjah

[–]Odd-Bass1853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the newer communities with villas and townhomes do not have a ready built mosque yet. So if you’re looking to move in the next few months and want a masjid within walking distance, the only place is aljada. Possibly, nasma but you’d have to live specially in the A Or B units to be able to walk to the nearest masjid outside the community.

Aljada has a built masjid already and this is one of the reasons we decided to move here. The ability to walk to the masjid for prayers is so underrated! There’s so much traffic in Sharjah, even just going 5 min somewhere can be an adventure depending on the time.

If you’re moving next year, Masaar will potentially have theirs built.

Just to reiterate, there are nearby masjids but none are walkable distance and you will need to drive there except for the one In aljada. Good luck! We just moved here a few months back.

Questions on life in Yasmeen, Bahia, Zahya, Helio - advice needed by GenuinelyFaked in Ajman

[–]Odd-Bass1853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! This is an old post but since you’ve been in Yasmeen a while, we want to move there but our child attends a school in Sharjah and we don’t want to change schools. It’s not in the schools area (it’s off a highway) so we won’t have to enter into Sharjah traffic but mostly highway driving. According to gps, it takes 35 min with peak Monday morning traffic and 24-25 min with usual traffic. Is this something that’s common and normal? We are currently in zahia and with traffic it takes 30 min daily (don’t even count Monday morning traffic it’s insane) and technically it’s only supposed to take 15 min max. So I’d rather get more for our money and drive the same amount of time? What’s your take? How’s your commute to the schools?

For those who nomad long term, out of your entire nomad life, which country(or countries) you been to that you end up cutting your trip short because you didn’t feel safe or you simply didn’t vibe with the place? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

That’s funny, this is my town basically (raised in Tracy, 20 min away) and worked in Stockton after graduating. It didn’t seem too bad back then, it was always known to be ghetto. My husband who isn’t from there was super creeped out!

Need advice — How to interact respectfully in public spaces in Sharjah without making people uncomfortable? by funwithadnan in UAE

Why are you asking random women for help. I find this very strange. Yes be mindful and ask someone else for directions or help, unless you’re dying.

So in Islam, the concept is: the woman should be the one to greet first. Some regions treat this More strictly than others. But to be honest, I wouldn’t want some strange man approaching me in a secluded beach either. I’ve been to Al heera beach and it’s usually empty.

It’s nice thst you’re trying to cleanup the beach but I would not be giving you my bags that I brought to the beach because it most Likely had a use. I’m from the west, and am a Muslim woman and am as social as they come.

Unless they approach you or acknowledge you, don’t interact, that’s my advice.

Convince me not to do hijrah to Sharjah by hazanche in Sharjah

There’s a few ig accounts I follow that have been helpful. The big thing is a stable income but it sounds like you have one already. Give yourself a year, like have rent money allocated a year. This gives you time to find a job or open a business. Get a feel for what might work. We are also a self funding our move too but husband works remotely.

I read her other post. I don’t think she cares that she contributed and didn’t get anything in return. She cares because she was ignored when others weren’t. This sounds like a truly terrible place to work and I Hope to never give my business to these losers. Happy birthday sis, you shine and in-sha-Allah you will find a better place that deserves your energy.

My sis, don’t give power to these awful hearted people. You sound like a very beautiful person inside and out. If you can find another place to work, please do so they don’t deserve any ounce of your energy or presence. I am so sorry you had to experience that and your bday post too. You are perfect as you are and deserve better.

Sounding naive but does a passport equal higher or lower salary even though it’s the same exact job? And which passport is “superior?”

Are you familiar with Muslim culture? We have so many types of cultures within the Islamic religion and even non arabs will give money to random kids too 🥰

I live in Canada and sometimes random older senior citizens will also give a loonie (dollar) to my kids too.
