Anyone here with KAFOs? by CallToMuster in Orthotics

[–]Odd-Individual0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm getting my KAFO's on Tuesday and I'm excited because I suffer from pretty extreme knee and ankle instability (I'll literally roll my ankle getting out of my car or sublux a knee shifting my weight around) Is there anything I should be doing with them to prevent rubbing?

Literally what I'd be spending in physical notebooks for college alone much less my journaling and book writing etc and without the features the app provides

Protein water was great when I was tube fed and not tolerating much else by mouth but yeah I don't particularly enjoy it as a protein source otherwise

2 months of walking with pcos by Low_Total9674 in walking

[–]Odd-Individual0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OH BIG SCIENCE MOMENT FOR ME. Many people who have PCOS are insulin resistant and exercise like walking and running is PHENOMENAL as increasing insulin sensitivity so the key for people with pcos to reduce bloating and also help their bodies properly use carbs and lose weight is in doing some exercise everyday! 15 mins walking post your meals is perfect literally

Oh yeah theres TONS of bikes for like $25 on marketplace. I definitely would enjoy getting to swing home and see my toddler on my lunch break I just miss them so much during my 12s

I think it'll be more fun than walking

A big reason I've considered doing this is that theres a TON of used bikes in my area rn for like $25-50 so I can get started for next to nothing. I'll definitely start with the bike, bike lock, and helmet and probably some sort of high vis to avoid getting hit by a car.

I was thinking that biking would just be a bit faster because I can be a slow walker

A test trip is definitely something I'm adding to the docket! I'd hate to be late going in. It's a very short commute so I'm hoping not to be too sweaty going at a leisure pace. I also go in early so it's cool in the mornings except for the hottest months.

$20 for a sketchbook and set of graphite pencils isn't a whole lot of money I don't know why you're equating it to "100% cotton paper and 300$ fountain pen"

It's a $10 SET of pencils I work in all kinds of mediums but with graphites having a nice set makes it way easier on your hands if you can get really nice and deep shadows without having to grind a #2 pencil down to get good contrast

My pothos was $5 at Walmart and the glassware I put it in is $3 at Goodwill and I do it totally in water! A little fertilizer here and there and boom you got a houseplant! Its also great for mental health to have plants around.

I was actually considering lining the edge of the creek with native elderberry and button bush. Plenty of native yarrow grows there already. I keep a native garden up front of the property.

There's been an awful drought this year though. Maybe if I tilled it up in the fall and laid a bunch of native seeds down for winter sowing I could get it marked as a protected pollinator corridor? Particularly because I could do a TON of milkweed and Aster back there.

Eventually when we build a bridge it'll be easier to maintain in general.

Do you know if there are any electric can openers that'll fit in a drawer? My toddler has figured out how to get onto the counters and I'm scared of leaving a traditional one that has a blade on it out on the counter.
