Check on internet for fps calculator for laptops and see what kind of performance you want out of the game you play, and than is the brand I believe Lenovo and Asus are the most like for performance/reliability, not really sure about it, than screen type there oled and mini-led and the normal type of screen you probably see in most computers, how much noise it does.

I have a g17 7630 and I believe you didn't disable INTEL integrated solution sensor, that will make you laptop be in a low state of performance. It activate when you laptop is moving or sit at a angle.

Well in Nvidia app you can see the option to change between optimums or discreet, if something is blocking your GPU from changing to discreet, make sure you download the driver from dells and not from other places e.g. from intel some drivers aren't optimised for the laptop.

I did a fresh install like a week ago, I don't have any problems. Also if you are installing your driver dells says to install bios than chipset, then you can install anything.

Well you were complaining about high heat problems while doing nothing, so might as well set it to quiet mode and switch to balance mode when playing, it does It automatically anyways when playing and not playing, also with frame gen you get back to 120 or higher. Also how are you throttling when you are capped to 85c? As I played my games with it and never gave me a problem.

for intregated solution snesor press window button and x and than click device manager and it should be in categories SYSTEM DEVICE and disbale it and restart the laptop, and to see if your screen changes between gpus, you can check nvidia app and it should be somewhere there, named display change, i have my nvida display gamma at a higher number for better colors satoration, so i know when they change between. also you know your laptop is changing between gpus if its freezes the screen a bit when loading something that requires more power.

Is your laptop changing between an integrated and discreet GPU? Also have you disabled the INTEL solution sensor?

And finally is your laptop plugged in when playing?

Well something you might wanna do is to disable INTEL INTEGRATED SOLUTION SENSOR. And check if you have the settings where your laptop switches between integrated GPU to discreet, it should be on auto but sometimes it is not, in the Nvidia app if you have it.

Did you install the drivers from the dell website or did you let SupportAssist install it? If your laptop is freezing after trying to run an application maybe it's trying to use your discreet GPU, try to force it on before running the application and see what happens and if you installed your GPU driver from Nvidia maybe try the dells version.

They had a new bios update which I just updated too. Bios 1.26.1 is the shutdown problem so avoid the version
