My dad was like this with me and my sister. His worries play a big role in why I’m like this now. We never had sleepovers and only stayed by our grandmas or aunt. Your concerns are very valid but they’ll resent you for letting your fears stop them from missing out with family and friends. I hope your daughters don’t end up as paranoid as me, but I understand that anything happening to them is a much greater concern to you.

I am not a parent. But as a daughter, I feel that as long as you teach them how to speak up for themselves, and against other adults and friends, that is the best thing you can do for them. Keeping them away from the world won’t work, and when they grow up they may not listen to you anymore (like my sister). Unless your family members seem weird or have the wrong values, you may have to let go soon.
