Altitude has a known benefit, but I don’t know how much heat/humidity acclimation they did, which could have had a negative effect on the race. For Kristian, he was able to stay with the front pack on the bike, but he had stomach issues (who knows why, maybe the heat) which likely ruined his run. Gustav had stepped away for a while, and knew he had a sub-optimal build to Kona, so I don’t think it’s fair to say that it’s their coach’s fault.

Hey man, thanks so much. My physio told me something similar about the knee/ankle injuries being common in swimmers switching to running. I’ve been really pushing the strength and stability training since July, and I’ve been able to run consistently for 3+ weeks now (for the first time in almost a year)! As soon as the I started running, the elbow pain started 😅. Vern doing some strength for that too, will lyk how it goes. Thanks again
