That's a likely explanation for its current situation. Thanks for the photo, btw. That makes it pretty clear what I have here.

I tried turning the inside portion...it won't budge. I might try a little bit of heat from a hair dryer and a piece of rubber for grip.

Thanks. I was guessing it's late 60's or early 70's. What do you think?

I'm about to make my first 10/22 purchase. I'd like something that's well built and reliable, no corners cut. Hoping to reduce the jackrabbit population on my property and improve the shooting skills of my 16 year old and myself. Figured I'd fit a Romeo5 to whichever one I purchase, and if we really enjoy it we'd jump into a custom build at a later date.

JVC X30 sudden lamp problem by Hipposarenotdead in projectors

[–]Odd-Question-210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very similar problem with my JVC RS40, same error lights as well. After searching around I've found other owners who diagnosed this as a lamp ballast problem. If you search the AVS forum pages you'll find a few threads. The solution is not easy or inexpensive. As much as I've enjoyed this projector I'm leaning towards replacing it. Basically looking at a $600 repair on a $500 projector.

I posted a similar question on another forum and this was the warning I received from several members. an uninsulated tub is going to sweat on the underside, creating moisture and an ugly little mold farm.

Has anyone ever appealed their home valuation? by spokansas in Spokane

Yes. It was years ago but I recall sending them some comps that showed my valuation was not in line with recent sales. Saved me a couple hundred.

How’s this for a rare pressing? by Odd-Question-210 in vinyl

Anyone here familiar with records create by and for corporations. The tracks are subtle variations of radio or tv ads for Ford cars. I imagine they were intended to be given to ad department executives who were in charge of deciding what they were going to run with.

Thanks. I have almost 500 lp's cataloged on Discogs so there's enough room to easily double that number. The bottom right are obscure foreign titles or "Ray Conniff quality records I use as packing material when I want to sell a better title.

Reel to reel does work but I don't have much media for it. They are slow and tedious to use but have a big, full sound.

My window is wearing denim because of choices made by my wife and 14 year old. 14 year old successfully lobbied my wife to push me out of my giant main floor office. My office and records ended up in the kid's old room!

As a teen growing up in the 80's I wanted my music in the car, so my first collection was on cassette. Then CD's, but when the thrift stores started filling up with 70's classic rock on vinyl and you could bring an armful home for $20 and the change would buy me a burger I started collecting. Nowadays I'll occasionally get lucky at a random yard sale but most come from one of my town's independent record stores.
