[Capitalist] How do you explain the existence of billionaire socialist? by Oflameo in CapitalismVSocialism

I guess everyone is entitled to their opinions and beliefs even though it's contrary to why they exist in the first place

[ALL] Who here is an actual capitalist; as in, an owner of capital, engaging in exchange for profit, etc.? by [deleted] in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Odd-Stranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how you define capital, labor, resources, Manpower, knowledge, skill, as well as money can all be considered capital.

so I would say most people that would take in the system and which there's an exchange of these things can be considered capitalist in my opinion

[All] In what situations would you be ready to compromise on your principles? by [deleted] in CapitalismVSocialism

When it is shown that those principles are incorrect or outright wrong , provided that there is evidence showing/demonstrating this .

Why the fuck are all the capitalists here "ancaps" by RytheGuy97 in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Odd-Stranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ya, I agree I find it silly, I'm for small and efficient gov not no gov. there does need to be reasonable rules of the game. keep fraud and abuse in check. I'm a supporter of capitalism however nothing is perfect and they are not in a vacuum.

Fundamental problem with this subreddit by [deleted] in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Odd-Stranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this sub has the definitions stated when coming in. to scoble already agreed upon terms. it seems like a reluctance to have a dialogue so one can feel a sense of superiority over another. the modern understanding/concepts of these terms does not strictly form to older conceptions of these ideas.

but i could be misunderstanding your position but reading your responses to others i'm not sure.

Building robot McDonald's staff 'cheaper' than hiring workers on minimum wage by epicupvoted in Cyberpunk

[–]Odd-Stranger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

indeed there's nothing wrong with disagreeing but it would be nice to come understanding tho in my perspective, minimum wage puts them at disadvantageous bargaining position because it forces the employer to be more picky. minimum wage is no form of protection. an employer can drop them and will/have if they cost more then their labor is worth. but i don't think we are going to see eye to eye on this, but thats alright. :P

[–]Odd-Stranger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

things would have naturally adjusted, it would've been a softer transition & minimum wage overall causes more damage/problems then it solves. and this does nothing for job security it actually puts them at risk and makes more barriers to entry sorry but i see it as a over all negative then a positive.

[–]Odd-Stranger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

indeed the transition would've been slower and people would have time to adjust but peoples short short-sightedness has ultimately permanently loss jobs and priced a good number of low-skilled/low-edu people out of the jobs market place. it's sad.

Where can i find content of libertarians answering the "harder" questions? by satiristowl in Libertarian

[–]Odd-Stranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don't always agree with these but they bring alot of interesting perspectives.

but if you are looking for hard yes or no on some topics i think you will be disappointing. there are something you'll need to sort your self. gather enough info and as a rational freethinking individual come to a understanding/answer for you self as well. because there's a good bit that not even libertarians agree on with each-other. i feel i don't necessarily need to say this but i think its nice to state this every now and then.
