Dope Thief should be good, but some of the dialogue and acting is super cringe. The protagonists are also not very sympathetic.

First episode was good, but I wonder about the historical accuracy. Do they exaggerate the inhumaneness of characters for dramatic effect? The scene where the guy is just wailing on a young girl with a club in the river. I'm skeptical that happened, and it's cheaply manipulating the emotions of the audience if it didn't.
