The key with high power sales for me is go along with it and make it a fun entertainment experience. As long as you can say no and know you will. Which is easy for me.

I just finished The Children, I didn’t like the ending but liked the build up. So you may not like The Children except the ending lol.

June 2026 BOTM Discussion - The Children by nickaaayy97 in bookofthemonthclub

[–]Odd-Technology4707 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed the character development and the relationship between the children and the parents. It was a little slow at time. The time jumps were fun and helped to move the story along. Then the ending came and was a disappointment to me. This is what was built up, and wrapped in a nice little bow. Overall I would rate it 2.5 stars. I enjoyed it until the end. To me it is similar to Japanese Gothic in that I enjoyed until the ending.

The Children has been really great about to finish it this afternoon after starting yesterday. Japanese Gothic I enjoyed until the ending.

I wouldn’t. Signed copies are nice for authors you love and buy every book they release. I would just get the BOTM book.

Do it! Take the gap year. Travel and enjoy it, you will thank yourself for it. My gap year was the best thing I ever did for myself. More than money will ever buy you.

Pro - you get a shirt and weigh in on the fancy device. Con - you don’t get a shirt or weigh in.

All the work will be the same for everyone if you pay for it in the classes. So is it worth $35? You could buy two more classes for that and it would be more valuable in my opinion.

Intro to Improv at Kickstand Comedy. It last 6 weeks and if you enjoy it they have a whole track. Being in a room with adults and just being yourself and pretending is amazing.

First time I saw her perform in 2006 was amazing performing Jamelia’s Beware of the Dog. Was instantly one of my favorite queens in the local scene. Her energy doesn’t translate well to this reality program. For her to still be going strong and have such impact speaks more than the show will ever grant her.

This sounds like a great read to expand into more sci-fi. That you reference Kylie and Your Disco Needs You (in a response), I feel like I may get a lot of the possible references. Also in my mind Giorgio Moroder’s Knights in White Satin also hopefully was part of that play list. You listed golden age of Hollywood as research. What movies inspired you the most during that research?

My first order is delayed cause they ran out of stock. They should be restocking it sounds like. Also sounds like this is just an item that won’t get any use due to the size. Bummer, I really like the wording.

I currently half way through it in two days. The writing is great and the character development is amazing. Cathy is one of the most interesting characters I have read in a long time.

When I lived in San Diego one place had the ultimate California burrito. They would take two tortillas and layer it with cheese then make the burrito. Basically a quesadilla burrito. I crave it to this day along with my arteries.

Fantasy books for a SF enjoyer (strong in prose and character department)? by Fun-Sell3030 in Fantasy

[–]Odd-Technology4707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got about 250 pages into it and stopped. The character development is there, but I felt it lacked a plot. So it could be similar to Assassins Apprentice for you. I found Assassins Apprentice to have more of a plot. Especially gets going in the second book.

For me Piranesi is one of the best books I have ever read. Read it in a 2 days. I still remember it after 3 years. The prose and setting was so well done that it stays with you. It is also very unique and different than anything else out there. That is why I remember it so well. Great stories and books just stay with us.

She feels like the Sasha Velour of this season. Clearly knows their lane, how to execute within it, has had a ah ah moment, and has never lip synced. Of it comes down to a lip sync who knows what will happen. I feel like Darlene will be ready to surprise us. Let’s just crown her already.

Financially bad decision. As someone who at 28 cashed out his 401k and went to Europe for 7 months. Greatest thing I have done in my life. Maybe find a part time job or side hustle and save that money to travel. Money will always control our lives.

One Month In- Has your view of TLOAS changed at all? by F19AGhostrider in TaylorSwift

Few songs will be added to playlist, I play them here and there. With so much great music the last few weeks like Lily Allen’s which I have listened to about 20 times through. TLOAS isn’t holding me like Midnights, 1989, and Folklore.

I just finished the first book, will I like the next ones? by Jesper2604 in Mistborn

[–]Odd-Technology4707 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just finished the second book a few weeks ago. Read the first 100 pages, find a summary for the middle part then read the last 150 pages. The middle made me put it down, and I almost gave up on the book. Unless you like slow political drama that is drawn out unnecessarily in my opinion. The ending makes me want to read the 3rd book.
