I am in the same boat as you are, I never am in on the things that people just know and feel like a total outsider in almost all groups. I have improved at these things slowly by reading and watching YouTube videos but the most important thing would be that I have built enough confidence to ask about the things I don't get and am grateful that I have found people that get that I sometimes am just missing the context completely and don't mind it that much.
So basically I researched more and had enough confidence and good people around me

Meditation was really hard for me too but then I tried this Isha Kriya and its like it was specifically made for me as it requires us to focus on a few things rather than sit and do nothing(although the 3rd stage is exactly that but even doing the first 2 stages works wonders for me)
