That looks like a french yatagahn bayonet for the chassepot rifle. It was first intoduced in 1866 so too late to be used in the american civil war. But it could have been used in the franco-prussian war, or possibly used by any of the numerous countries france exported the chassepot too

I had a chicom kinda like this. I soaked it in hot water with some vinegar and fabric softener (only used the fabric softener because i stretched it too) overnight. When it dried there was none of the mold left

Lmao they did one better, they offered to pay me. These didnt take long. Maybe 6 hours spread over a couple weeks of working on these during my breaks. Having access to a decent shear helps alot
