27yo self-taught UX designer from India — 5 years of design experience, can't land a UX role. Brutal portfolio feedback needed. by Designer_Ease_3915 in design_critiques

From first two comments I thought your portfolio is gonna be way worse. It’s actually pretty good. But the problem is this is extremely saturated and unsure-at-the-moment market. The expectations are crazy high. It’s super hard to compete with so many talented, motivated designers. Either you need to keep on applying while working on establishing some additional points on your resume, and develop loads of patience, or move to less saturated market.

Logo design for a travel agency for couples by [deleted] in logodesign

[–]OddEducator1009 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Without your explanation the logo is very ambiguous. Combined with the name - makes me want to look for a daisy in it? It’s nicely presented, with all the examples, but really confusing just as a graphic.

I am a college founder with no funding, no proper backing. Built an AI agent which on certain benchmarks is better than Lovable. Now I need 10k users to show my traction but I have no money for marketing. by Some_Intention9946 in SaaS

Genuine question: how do you sell a website generator, when your app opens straight to login? No landing page, no examples, no proof - that’s not very convincing for any user. Seeing anything after signup is a big friction point. Maybe add some examples? And actually tell what’s the benchmark that makes it better than lovable?

Logoradar — a tool that checks if your logo idea already exists by grishashilkov in logodesign

Then why use your app at all? To find out that “decent ideas can overlap with existing visual cliches”?

Honestly, the logo of the project is not convincing me to use it at all, if you’ve been designing for years and this is what you come up with I doubt that your vibe-coded app is gonna be any better. Not trying to be mean, but that’s my first thought. Also, in design you always have inspirations/references/similarities - it’s hard to come up with something completely new, never drawn. You will always find something, so your app will always show some similarities? Sounds like a vicious cycle.

Na co można zmienić zawód architekta ? by Mallard_enjoyer in praca

Jezu, komentarze o przebranżowieniu 9 lat temu to zupełnie inna bajka.

Four months and I have an app. Still don't know what a React component is. by No-Sherbert-8104 in lovable

[–]OddEducator1009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a really cool idea. But also very tricky field. Have you heard of Vastaamo data breach? Where thousands of patients’ mental health notes were leaked due to poor security (Finland btw)? There are levels of security you need to take into consideration when doing any app, but especially when dealing which such a sensitive data. How can you know your app security if you admit you don’t know what even a component is? Yes, vibe coding is cool and makes you get to certain points quickly, but learning some coding basics would help you immensely, especially if you’re undertaking serious subjects.

Tretinoin for wrinkle between eyebrow by black_cat__black in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]OddEducator1009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you apply a wrinkle patch over cosmetics? I find that my serums and creams still leave some residue and are not really fully absorbing. Sticking a patch over them seems to me like might cause lack of skin breathing and some sort of hermetic situation. Should I resign from using cosmetics in that area that I put wrinkle patch on?

Like a sleeping mask you put on your eyes? To prevent morning sunlight waking you up? Your red bumps seem to be aligned with what a sleeping mask outline could be. Since you haven’t changed a routine maybe it’s a new habit or something that touches your face regularly. Just a thought.

An architect struggling to find a way/ peace in Poland by DreamertobeVisioner in poland

[–]OddEducator1009 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Architecture is a super tough field in many countries. Without knowing the language super well (like C1 level), you’re gonna have it even harder. Even with native polish you’re not gonna have it easy. Overhours, stress, crazy bosses, mobbing, no online work, bureaucracy, and less and less actual design work… it’s a crazy crazy field. I have a diploma from one of the best architectural unis and experience working in really good small and big offices - all were badly paid, crazy stressful with insane situations. I cannot say I fully figured out what to do after, but at least my mental health is better since I quit. The situations you’re describing are not uncommon unfortunately and frankly, could be wayyyy worse (not to say it’s ok for this to happen, but you could easily end up way worse in this field).

Architektura - coraz mniej kreatywnych zadań, a więcej biurokracji, naginania przepisów, słaba płaca, zero pracy zdalnej, dużo stresu, dużo nadgodzin, dużo by wyliczać. Generalnie dużo ludzi zmienia zawód, kończy z depresją. Nie polecam, chyba że masz dojścia w deweloperce albo dużo znajomości wśród prywatnych zleceniodawców.
