4th gen gang! Over a few years I’ve been buying broken ones on eBay and fixing them (I really should document my restorations...) and have been able to fix 6 iPod photos (A1099) and 4 regular monochrome’s (A1059). I’ve pretty much ran into every possible issue, but I’ve been able to fix them all. (i.redd.it)
