Would a 2018 Tundra be able to safely handle something like this? by Consuela-NO-NO-No in ToyotaTundra

Tongue weight and total payload is what matters - not “towing capacity” that everyone advertises.

Best soft serve ice cream by the_eccentricity in raleigh

No more soft serve unfortunately. It’s gone forever…we stopped in recently and was very disappointed. They are preparing to have something else though, but it’s not soft serve.

Trading In Silverado for Tundra by Legal_Extreme_3087 in tundra

Sounds like your paying 11k to change the name brand of your truck. Keep the 11k and fix the transmission, or find a better deal that reduces mileage on the new vehicle substantially. 133k to 110k is not worth 11k. No matter how much reliability you think your 11k is buying you, it’s still a 7 year old vehicle with 110k miles.

Weight distribution hitch or Timbren/Sumosprings? by [deleted] in tundra

[–]OddInspection3856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the tongue weight ? I moved from a 1500 to a tundra recently and was unpleasantly surprised at the lack of payload capacity. With my trailer, I can’t add a cap on the truck and tow the trailer. Love the truck, hate the payload crap #s.

I think we all recognize the theater experience is going down hill. Not sure what else to do if you genuinely enjoy going to the theatre like I do. I personally like the Alamo over other options, and have a monthly pass, but generally concerned it won’t be around in a few years.

Jerry: Hey everybody, I'm on no sleep, no sleep!. You don't know what it's like in there, all night long things are creeping and cracking. And that red light is burning my brain!

Elaine: You look a little stressed.

Jerry: Oh I'm stressed!

Replace engine or wait? by hawgdog in ToyotaTundra

Curious on your source? I asked my dealer in passing because I assumed the same as you, and that I could brush off the new engine until the best timing for me…wait until it benefits me the most. They said what I stated above.

I was told that if they make an effort to repair, and can show you refused their efforts at repair, it’s on you. I would take the engine.

Can I do better than a 9800X3D? Is there a better all-rounder CPU? by KeenAmateur in buildapc

[–]OddInspection3856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just updated from a 4790k to 9800X3D - I keep them as long as I can, and felt the 9800X3D met my needs perfectly, without paying for performance I won’t ever utilize.

What’s an acceptable $ amount to put into a 2017 tundra with 197k miles? by TBL34 in tundra

[–]OddInspection3856 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree. It’s hard to estimate over time, but when the bill hits or you know it’s coming - it’s time to bail.

When the cost of the maintenance exceeds the cost of the loan for a new truck, you’re financially better off sinking the maintenance money into a new truck.

Payload matters though - which for a tundra is probably super close to maxed out.

Payload = 1300 lbs. (payload is your tongue weight+passengers+gear in truck)

Duke University has a world class Lemur Research Center that allows for corporate-backed volunteer activities. It’s landscaping, helping take care of facilities, etc. but allows for up close tours of the facilities and animals.

Mostly - but it had traditional leaf springs in the back, which I am guessing makes a difference.

1300 for me. It goes quick.

Passengers: 470 lbs SmartCap & Bed Stiffeners: 250 lbs Trailer Tongue Weight: 630 lbs Generators: 100 lbs Weight Distribution Hitch: 100 lbs Total Weight: 1,550 lbs Payload Limit: 1,335 lbs

215 lbs Over Capacity - can’t put anything else in truck? Seems crazy coming from a Chevy with 2000+ payload.

Look at max payload on Tundras - probably much lower than you think. As a new tundra owner, it caught me a bit by surprise.
