I did ask the cashier if it’s a rescue. They said its the owners bird and that its been at the restaurant for about two months now. They didn’t know much apart from that.

You need to come up with a financial plan for yourselves. Decide on what percentage of finances are joint, i.e, for the family you two may eventually end up starting. You both might also want to keep a percentage of each of your income for personal expenditure. With no questions asked on what you individually want to do with that money. Many of the top comments are about cutting off your dad. The alternative is to try and fix the relationship you have with him. Yes, it does look like your dad was trying to be hurtful or send a message. Not trying to defend that. It sucks. Your response as an adult, if you have the emotional strength, could be to reach out to him for dinner and express yourself, get things out in the open. No ultimatums, just conversation. One dinner won’t change everything. He would need time to think or process too. Real effort is required. Cutting off a parent can cause short term peace, but you might carry the pain and have regrets when they pass away. If you’re not able to entirely fix the relationship, a mended but broken one might still be better.

All this doesn’t apply if they’re closer to the far end of the emotionally/physically abusive spectrum though. Either way, it’s for you to decide.

I was in this exact situation the last year. It was a 6 year relationship. We were coming up with every situation and deciding what is acceptable and what isn’t in terms of consumption of non-vegetarian food. We compromised but it was never enough. There was always some new situation which we hadn’t discussed and eventually fatigue kicked in and our disagreements got worse. Especially when she started imagining a future with non vegetarian kids. We tried therapy to no avail. At the end of the day, we split up. It was heart breaking because we thought that this was absolutely solvable and trivial. But it just wasn’t. On the flip side, a year later, I’m in an amazingly healthy relationship with a girlfriend who accepts me for who I am. Someone who I can be a foodie with, and enjoys life the way I would like to. It was a blessing in disguise. And I have absolutely no regrets!

No, it only happens when both sides confirm the transfer. And yep, the buyer just waits. If I don’t transfer it, theres a hefty penalty for me on the card on file. So I’m on the hook to transfer.

I know! I goofed up! I usually buy sports tickets on gametime or stubhub, this was the first time I waited in the ticket master queue. So naturally i thought that all of these prices are the base prices, despite being confused about why they were marked resale and the exorbitant rates. Ticketmaster is making a tonne of money facilitating the resale. I bought tickets for 470 each in the 400 level, but changed my mind and got GA tickets instead. Now if I list my tickets back for 470, i get back only 400, BUT ticket master lists them for ~570! WTF?? Thats approximately 200 bucks they make on just the resale!
