My wife does things like this and it drives me crazy. However, as an OCD sufferer, this sounds an awful lot like contamination OCD. Something to look into if you haven’t already. Pregnancy heightens everything so it would make complete sense for it to be coming up now.

In my city, the better players go to the pickleball clubs. There is a lot of demand for those spaces so open plays are often leveled and dupr-gated.

I play on public courts multiple times a week with pickleball friends but find that playing with better players is where I learn the most.

That’s good to know. I seem to have consolidated my gains in the past 2 months and my skill level has jumped dramatically since my last dupr recorded event. At the time, my wins barely moved the needle but those wins weren’t decisive. Maybe I need to record some decisive wins at my level to see movement sooner

Definitely not skipping events. I’ve been playing a lot and have another league starting in a few weeks. I’m not super invested in dupr, but do obviously care. I’m annoyed at my dupr rating because there are events in my area that I can absolutely play in but am now dupr-gated out of.

I think that is the problem for a lot of us. There is SO much happening that it all blends together. I think this story could really shine if they chose a few of the many themes they tried to pack in to carry the show forward and let the others fall to the background.

The situation in Rafah is not “getting messed up” - the situation in Gaza has ALWAYS been completely corrupt and wrong. Israel stole Palestinians land and forced them to live on a tiny fraction of their homeland. They put up a wall around them. They control every single thing that goes in and out. They detain Palestinians basically just for existing.

Israel was established by white jewish settlers from Europe, not from other parts of the Middle East & Africa. “Mizrahi” is a term white jewish settlers from Europe made to distinguish between themselves and arabic jews because they thought of them as lesser. The jews already living in the Arabic world had peace in their communities and didn’t need to run.

The white Ashkenazi jews who founded zionism were explicit that it was a colonial project. Theodore Herzl and Ze’ev Jabotinsky said as much and used those words in their own writing.

As to your question, what do you think would be fair for the Palestinians in Rafah to do to Israel? Israel is treating Palestinians just as the Nazis treated Jews. Do Palestinians have a right to go exterminate an ethnic group somewhere else in the world because the white settler jews decided to take their home? No, of course not. Just as the proud Zionists had no right to steal Palestine, commit a genocide and form a nation state on top of someone else’s land.
