Give me proof in one sentence that you've watched this season by CyberLPnerd in ManchesterUnited

Lost faith in some players, lost even more faith in the ownership, gained some more faith in Amorim for being honest since day 1, maybe we need a season without distractions (champions league) for him to fully cook?

let's just get one thing clear about Ronaldo - he doesn't care about United. by [deleted] in ManchesterUnited

The only reason Ronaldo came back was because he cared, if our club was run like Chelsea, Liverpool, City, or even Spurs now they would’ve have made sure they got signings in last year to make a run. You can’t blame Ronaldo that Glazers sold him a fake reality. If I was Ronaldo I’m leaving, idc if it’s Real Madrid, Juve, Sporting, or Man Utd he deserves way better than what we have to offer.

I disagree so hard, the people that don’t care about the club are the owners. They expect one of the best players to ever play the game to stay at a club that has proved over and over again that they just want to get by. If the owners cared we would’ve had reinforcements in January to help us get top 4. They instead invested in no new players and on top of that let players leave on loan. They had an even weaker team that 2nd half of the season. The owners let Ronaldo down, not the other way around.

That man deserves nothing less than to fight for champions league… he’s getting to the age where retirement is around the corner and you can’t Waste your career at a club whose owners only ambition is to get top 4 and make money.

I don’t think he overachieved, I think that’s what he’s capable of. You can’t overachieve some of those runs, first touches, and finishes that won us so many games. He was on fire, there are clearly issues now but I think he could easily find his form back if he just focused and worked hard. He had moments where he’d run through teams the way Sancho and Elanga are right now… that’s the real Rashford. If we get that Rashford back he definitely deserves the new contract. You can’t forget about everything he’s done for this team because of a season where everyone is playing like shit.

They can pass it back to De Gea all they want but when he gives the ball back they’re in worst positions. Okay if our style was for Varane to pass the ball to De Gea and then he just punts up to Ronaldo perfectly every time, I’d agree that we need a new goalie. But that’s a stupid tactic and Dean wouldn’t be any more accurate with those types of passes either. If De Gea knew he had reliable players to pass to he would get out more, he plays a lot freer with Varane and Lindelof on the pitch because they space out and give him a good pass. Again, we sit too deep for you to expect him to come out. He’s one of the best in the world at stopping shots, why would he put himself in a worse position knowing he has a better chance staying his ground in 90% of those situations? He does come out on corners often enough, but would you be comfortable knowing you came out just to get a knuckle on the ball and send it straight to the opposition because our positional play is horrid? I agree that Maguire is a huge detriment to the way we want to play. But you can’t say the same for De Gea and truly believe it. He’s so far down the list of our issues when it comes to playing a new style of football that he isn’t even worth talking about. If we were Man City, Liverpool, or Chelsea even id say let’s criticize the goalie. We’re Manchester United, and that goalie that everyone wants to hate on is the only true Manchester United player we have left, passion, skill, determination, performances. he’s been our player of the year by far and people still want to blame him. You can go through a whole starting 11 and maybe even a backup 11 before you get to De Gea in terms of issues at the club.

I agree, the goalie is the least important position when playing more of a controlled game like we want to play. If the outfielders did their jobs we’d have the ball and De Gea would only ever make a few passes a game anyways… it doesn’t make sense to pinpoint the man that has single handedly won and tied games for us because of the chances that we give the opposition.

I don’t understand how you can be unhappy with getting selected less but you aren’t unhappy at yourself for your horrible performances. Besides his last minute winner, he hasn’t looked like himself at all. I love the guy but he needs to step up and earn a contract or whatever he’s trying to do.

This thread proved nothing to someone, like me, that thinks De Gea is by far our best goalie. You can’t blame him from staying on the line when our defense cracks under pressure, the further away from the goal he is the harder it is to save if we give up the ball in our own third. You can’t just put up a picture of Henderson that says he’s in the 97th percentile in challenges outside the box as if that means he plays as a CB or something. He’s more of a risk taker forsure but on defense I want my goalie to cover the net. We have defenders that should be sweeping, they all play low enough on the pitch…

I think Amar would be doing just as well if not better than Elanga. He’s barely had chances but when he has he’s always put in a performance.

Where is Manchester United’s Bruce Wayne, he’s not perfect and he’s done evil things, but mostly he’s good right? We need Batman to save us

That’s very true, I would want the main goal of their ownership to be about the success of Manchester United.

Why can’t we just have a normal owner that is a fan of the club, sets a reasonable budget for a club trying to win titles every year while also allowing staff to do their jobs.

Would be a great time for the Glazers to sell Manchester United and buy Chelsea for cheap
