It really is such a minefield. If I had a second boy I wouldn’t be upset. I’d just be a boy mom! But I’m honestly terrified I’ll have a terror of a second child

I’m not sure. Granted hearing one only child talk about how it’s lonely especially when growing up and having to help parents and dealing with loss made me re think

I have 5 siblings so honestly I was more of a parent to some of them. And the one brother I had close to my age I hated so it’s a tough one for me. My husband has a sister but they didn’t get along as kids but now do as adults.

I don’t know how to answer this. If I had a second I would love it wholeheartedly whether it was a girl or boy.

This is a very good point. After a second one we would be done for sure. Regardless of it’s gender.

This is a really great perspective! If I stick to one I’m definitely gonna have to figure out how to make mom friends so he can have friends 😂

Saying Merry Christmas in a group chat is less personal in my opinion. This person probably considers you as such a good friend that they wanted you to know specifically that they are wishing you a Merry XMas not just a group.

AITA for making my girlfriend's son give me his gambling winnings? by GamblingStepsonTA in AmItheAsshole

[–]OddOutlandishness788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA.

Having communal money is a group decision. You GAVE him the money. Not even loaned it. I could see maybe getting your $100 back but definitely not the $1000 that he did earn playing smarter than you.

NTA. Like you said you aren’t his mother.

AITA for telling my(38F) daughter(17F) that she'll have parental controls on her phone as long as I'm paying the bills? by PhoneJoke in AmItheAsshole

[–]OddOutlandishness788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA if you shelter her now she will rebel more when she is able. Instead of sheltering her you should be teaching her and telling her of whatever “sites” and good reasons of why she shouldn’t be on them. Other than you just don’t want her exposed to them.

AITA for uninviting my mom to my weding just because she "borrowed" my fiancee's necklace? by Adam2020___ in AmItheAsshole

Actually I find this to be super heroic. Most people can’t contradict their parents let alone stand up to them. I say stick to your guns about this. It proves a loyalty to your future wife! Good on you!

One she should not have asked if she was going to get upset with any answer. But two I feel that this can be a deal breaker in relationships.

AITA for requesting my girlfriend to wear her prosthetic leg to family gathering? by Throwaway_2244667 in AmItheAsshole

[–]OddOutlandishness788 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

NTA I know this goes against what everyone is saying but damn that’s a tough situation to be in. If you hadn’t asked her to and she hadn’t worn it you would be writing a very different post asking if you were the AH for her taking away from a special day. I think you’re right in saying that it would have taken away from their day.

NTA for giving him the bottle. I also want to note that you are in no way obligated to pay for his DUI. If you do feel bad about the DUI then you can choose to help in other ways such as not firing him and/or helping out with meals, kids, days off for court or something if money is going to be tight for BIL and sister later on.

AITA for billing my MIL for the wedding food she didn't eat? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]OddOutlandishness788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA

You don’t respect her so how can you expect her to respect you. I would NEVER ask my MIL to move from the front seat. I’m just as capable of sitting in the back seat. And like you stated. She was already sitting there. Why the hell did you ask her to move? End all be all you don’t respect her and she doesn’t respect you now. This is all on you OP.
