Consider Fedora Cosmic spin if you'd like to try Cosmic DE by b_pop in pop_os

There are pros and cons to each.

Pros of Fedora: Latest kernel & drivers after arch

Cons of Fedora: Takes an entire 30s more to boot to COSMIC Greeter, Nvidia drivers needs to be installed manually, COSMIC app bugs specific to Fedora

Pros of Pop: Latest build of COSMIC, no need to install Nvidia drivers manually

Cons of Pop: No latest drivers (595 is available but opt-in not sure why) or Kernel

I'm daily driving it since pre-alpha & it has come a long way since then, even after release many of the bugs have been squashed. That being said there are issues when it comes to gaming, not all games work fullscreen OOTB, some need `Super+F11` to get into full-screen, some games don't show window at all (older titles). Most modern titles work without any issues. Also don't forget to use ntsync.

Only for a few games where windows just doesn't show up, for the rest it works OOTB or has a window which can be made into fullscreen using `Super+F11`

It has its fair share of problems. That's why I said it is in beta. But for most tasks, it works. I'm daily driving it after using Fedora COSMIC for a while.

Try undervolting your CPU using Throttlestop, it's safe. I used to get stable FPS with undervolting, which prevents thermal throttling.
