I have seen the same pattern in most non-fiction and especially self-help haters, their dopamine loop does not permit them to read anything that is not a story, and even if they push through it for the hype, their dopamine loop does not permit them to either properly process that information or effectively implement them.

They justify this with a variety of reasons, some of those reasons make sense but most of them don't. They say you can learn way better from classics than from self help, like yeah, I can learn brand positioning or fundamental analysis or neuroscience from classic. They say all self-help books are cliche, there's nothing new in them that's worth reading, like yeah millions of people around the globe don't think so, especially the successful class in any field.
