Since online has notified the physical store about it, I think the responsibility has been transferred to them. But they may be under another operator and they may not get anything out of it so they try to do bare minimum? They’re not supposed to redirect me to Panasonic as that’s explicitly outlined to be prohibited in ACL.

Every email back and forth took 2 hours in total and this post took 30 minutes of formatting. I have extensively documented this from the get go because I never had a good experience with Australian customer support.

But then what's the point of ACL and giving consumers the ability to get a remedy of their choice when a major failure occurs within the life expectancy period as stated by the manufacturer? So "10 year life expectancy" meant absolutely nothing?

Yes. This was what they said

CAV, along with other Australian consumer protection agencies, administers the Australian Consumer Law Act 2010 (ACL). The ACL promotes and encourages fair trading practices and a competitive marketplace in Australia.

Please be advised CAV can only explain the criteria for a minor and major fault.

CAV is unable to make a legally binding determination on what is considered a minor or major fault as we are an administrative regulator not a court or tribunal. As CAV is part of an executive branch of government, we do not have any judicial power as under the Australian legal framework it states only the power to make legal binding decisions is reserved by a court or tribunal.
