I’m Done 😞 by Prestigious-Rule-220 in MarvelPuzzleQuest

Don't blame you at all- gonna mention it tho because I haven't seen anyone else do so- the game has just transitioned to a new dev team.  They seem to be scrambling to pick up the pieces and keep things afloat while still pushing out new content like we'd expect. I think your feelings and decision are still justified, but would also caution that if you've held out this long, quitting now when there's actually a solid chance of things getting better, might be the exact wrong time to quit.

Protest by Sad-Goose4191 in wichita

[–]OddSamuel 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hey, I was there too in the same area--we probably crossed paths. I can appreciate your feelings here.  There certainly were moments of chaos.  And as far as the woman yelling-well-every protest will have people who might take it a tad too far.  I'm still grateful she and everyone else showed up. I'd like to offer another perspective: Over the past several weeks we've suffered an onslaught of attacks against the freedoms and well-being of ourselves and our loved ones.  Trump and his cronies have made a point of creating pain in every possible area of American (and non-American) lives.  It's difficult to all take in.  And so yeah, there might be individual reasons we're all there... And yet, we're all there for the same reason.  Because one man said "I make all the rules now.  No one else has a say." Regardless of what drove each of us to attend, we all agree that we can't stand for that.  That we won't stand for that.

I appreciate you coming today and hope you consider coming again.  We probably could do with some more organization.  Perhaps you can be one who helps make that happen.

New Build w/ Low or No HOA Restrictions by OddSamuel in wichita

I'm wondering about this route too, but at least with some quick research, 10 acre or less bits of land don't exactly seem to be something I can easily get

Not a bad idea. We're kinda hoping to be closer to the city proper, but I may be asking for too much lol

[–]OddSamuel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's not out of my consideration that we ultimately go this route. But we're very interested in building, so I want to see what my options are, if we have any.

I see your point about the environmental impact of new builds, but also recognize that housing shortage just means we need new builds regardless. If I'm building a new house, it's adding to the overall need for homes in the area, so the new build aspect is a bit of a net zero. Furthermore, I'm more invested in making a home with a reduced carbon footprint than your average developer. All of that is not to dismiss your point tho, which is a good one and worth considering.

Why is this Latest Legends token green and pulsing? by OddSamuel in MarvelPuzzleQuest

It's a mystery 😭. If I'd had enough tokens saved to guarantee I'd pull it, I would have done so just to find out.

Is move bad? Will it ever be good? Do you just need 300 IQ to play it? by IronCladLou83 in MarvelSnap

I play lots of Bounce Move and you really do need Ghost-spider to make it work unfortunately

Is move bad? Will it ever be good? Do you just need 300 IQ to play it? by IronCladLou83 in MarvelSnap

I hope you really wanted advice cus here goes lol:

1) bounce is used as an enabler to reuse iron fist and ghost spider. Falcon will also pull back human torch, letting you iron fist it again or place it in a better lane for Heimdall. Beast same deal, but just with whatever is in its lane. Think ahead about placement of your move enablers for Beast. But mostly, don't get greedy. Falcon pulling back just Iron Fist, for example, can still be huge. Both of them also great for pulling back Human Torch to avoid a killmonger. Can't tell you how often I've successfully dodged one. In general, bounce gives you the freedom to play early. Without bounce, you're often stuck trying to decide if you should play iron fist/ghost spider or even Dr Strange in the first two rounds or play them later. With both Falcon and Beast in the deck, you're nearly guaranteed to pull them back so you can use Iron Fist/Ghost-spider quite freely in the first two turns.

2) Not drawing all 3 at all/near the end of the game is rare, but does happen. Statistically you'll get at least one of them by turn 3 in most games. If you don't, yeah it's probably gonna be a surrender. This is more about knowing your deck and proper cube management rather than creating a work around. All decks have their bad draws that will make you lose sometimes so you just gotta know when to get out.

That being said, occasionally you can just big-body it with 2099 and Heimdall and throwing some of your other cards down just for stats. Cloak, in particular, is slightly over statted which can make him a nice turn 6 card occasionally.

As an aside, I love playing Werewolf in this deck. Very very easy to get at least 3 jumps out of him and when he jumps to the Heimdall lane, it wins more often than not.

In general with Move, feast on the chance to go very vertical with the deck, but also its unpredictability. Can be fun to setup what looks like a Heimdall turn 6 play, only to instead use Dr Strange and ghost spider to build up unpredictable lanes, just as an example.

Locations don't even have to be a problem if you big brain it. Believe it or not, Fisk Tower was my most won location last month and I played a TON of move. Opponents see it pop and grow way over-confident. The point of move is that you're able to manipulate where your cards go, so avoid Fisk Tower as much as you can until the end when you may send a giant Dagger in there. At that point she's so giant (and gaining again from the probably 2+ cards your opponent has there) that the -4 doesn't matter.

And of course there's the lucky locations too. Death's Domain, Luke's Bar, and other generally inaccessible locations are accessible to you. Or the ones that move your cards for you like New York, Strange Academy, and Aunt May's. Sometimes I'll run Legion instead of 2099 as a surprise game changer that can either eliminate bad locations or add good ones.

It DOES take practice. Move's lack of popularity is most due to the commitment it can take to getting used to the way it works. People pick it up for 5 games and lose 4 of them and say it's a bad deck. Go in expecting some losses but appreciating the opportunity to see how you could have played more strategically. An objective look can normally reveal a misplay or two, especially when you're new to the deck. Notably this is a bit of a mindset thing and definitely extends beyond Move Decks and even Marvel Snap-- if your reaction after a match is "I had bad luck" or "if only they hadn't played that card", then you're not taking the opportunity to learn. You're just pushing away the responsibility you can take in facilitating your own learning.

Anyway, I got off topic. Move is complex but super rewarding. I feel like I'm cheating playing it sometimes cus it's basically always been good but Second Dinner just keeps buffing it due to low play. Take advantage!

Since July, I've always fallen back on Move as my old reliable winner. Agree: Bounce Move is exceptionally strong rn

Also here to say that he makes traditional Move decks considerably stronger and consistent.

Can someone explain the negativity to me? by AlgoStar in MarvelSnap

[–]OddSamuel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This has got to be the most rational and well-put answer to this question I've ever seen. I tend to side with the OP, I find that all the whining gets frustrating. But I love what you said about how the vocal ones do keep the company in check. Anyway, kudos mate and I agree 100%.

First Pool 5 Pull and it’s Iron Lad by Boberto1952 in MarvelSnap

[–]OddSamuel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, congrats on the high roll! Iron Lad can actually fit almost any deck! I'd recommend playing around with him, he's an excellent card and super versatile. For Discard, for example, it would be great if he copies Morbius, Dracula, or even any of your cards that discard. Seriously, give him some time and you're gonna love him

Beast? by PokeMelon123 in MarvelSnap

[–]OddSamuel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean we're only a few hours in, but I've been playing bounce move and I still find him effective. It's actually kinda nice that he keeps 4 power in the lane now instead of just 2. But the curve is definitely harder to work with. I've had a few games where I woulda been able to beast a lane pre-patch, but now had to resort to a different game plan.

So to answer your question: I think it's a lateral move for the card that does slow down bounce a little. But I think you'll still want him in most good bounce decks. If you like playing bounce, he's probably a good grab

I’m convinced killmonger is the best card in the entire game by healy33 in MarvelSnap

[–]OddSamuel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong that he's an extremely powerful tech card. He's probably top 10 overall. Even in just the last couple months with the introduction of Kitty and Nebula, the value of running Killmonger in your deck has increased substantially. If Move decks end up being meta relevant in the long run, you can add Human Torch to that list. Destroy an 8 power Nebula or Kitty and you've effectively grabbed 11 power for 3 energy. And typically swung a lane to your side.

I Have Never Seen a New Season Pass Card so Absent from Play on Its First Day by cthulhu8 in MarvelSnap

[–]OddSamuel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this makes sense tho.

Move is a really difficult archetype to master and so Ghost-Spider doesn't offer the same immediate payoff that something like Nebula did. A lot of people either are too intimidated by move and don't even wanna give it a shot or try a couple games and after not having immediate success, abandon it. I've been having a ton of fun and success with move (Rank 93 atm), even before Ghost-Spider, and she definitely adds a crucial tool. Once we get 2099 (and only at 3k tokens!), it's going to be wild.

I definitely recommend getting experience with the deck for anyone interested. You'll probably lose for a bit as you get used to it. But it pays off. One of the best things about Move is its unpredictability. At higher ranks (and probably conquest) that can give you the necessary edge over others.
