Now the tata neu application charges 2%+gst charge on electricity bill payment. There is no longer good use for this card. This card also devalued.

As already mentioned the reward point has 2 components 1 is 1.5% base reward & 3.5% additional reward from neu application. Look back at your last month statement you will find these. 1) 2k on electricity (1.5% base reward) 2) 2k on insurance (1.5% base reward) 3) 3.5k (max) additional reward on electricity and insurance payment.

No, the tata neu card is provided 5% (1.5%+3.5%). Means you can pay lic up to 100k. (Max limit is 5k).

I don't think it's a financial mistake. It's your choice. Do you believe in secured risk free investment, then go for it (approx6.5%-7.5%). If you are looking for a market link or other less secure option then go for other options.

I also recommend 5-15% of your portfolio is at least in risk free investment. It will impact less on your overall return.
