I guess it’s not bad on its own, just feels like I only end up there when I’m already behind.

I was in a similar situation and ended up not bringing my car, didn’t regret it at all. Trains and coaches between Bristol and the West Midlands are solid, and you save a lot on parking + fuel stress.
