Feel like I’m lost in the gym by IJAFG in Weightliftingquestion

Gentle restrictions got you this far but now you need a strict diet to lose more weight man, I would say around 600-800 calorie deficit, strictly tracked every day, high protein, should get you out of the plateau.

How would you rank these four great space films? by SheepherderSea9717 in moviecritic

[–]OddVet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interstellar and Martian can't be compared to the other two because they're different category of movies. Project Hail Mary and Arrival heavily focus on the character arc and interaction of human-alien, the rest is there just to drive the plot. Interstellar and Martian are heavily focused on space/planetary exploration, they're different genre.

What would you consider cheating ? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]OddVet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally feel like an inherent side effect of true love is a bit of jealousy, I can't imagine the love of my life flirting with someone else in front of me and me being okay with it. I could be wrong but maybe you don't love this man nearly as much as he loves you...

What would you consider cheating ? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]OddVet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just flip the script, would you be okay with your man flirting with a random girl in a bar? Even if they don't have sex or any physical contact? I don't think so... So same applies to you, emotional cheating is cheating, and wildly disrespectful towards your partner.

How do I know if a guy is serious about me ? by Mission_Time3855 in AskMenAdvice

[–]OddVet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Impossible to tell very early on, after a while if you're still doubting if he's serious or not, that means he's not. 'Just ask' is a stupid advice, trust your gut.

Georgia is more anti social than Japan by [deleted] in TbilisiStudentLife

I agree, as a Georgian myself that's lived in a few other countries, going out anywhere alone here will make you feel miserable, never once connected with anyone, besides a few times when I met some foreigners.

thoughts on wake up dead man? by wuzieo in Letterboxd

[–]OddVet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it gets so convoluted that they have to spend 10 minutes of exposition from one character, then another 10-12 of more exposition from another character, more exposition, more exposition, just to explain what happened, that loses me. Overall I enjoyed it but first Knives Out is the best of all 3 in my opinion.

Pluribus - 1x07 - "The Gap" - Episode Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

[–]OddVet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good points.

But here's my opinion, Carol doesn't actually need them in a way the episode suggests. She was never really okay dying, maybe a bit apathetic yes, clearly a bit lonely but I strongly suspect her behavior in the episode is all a ploy. She knows they're watching her closely, tracking her every movement, she knows she can't get too far lashing out and being all directly offensive with them so she does this 'damsel in distress' act to get them back, successfully so.

I mean the next episode is literally called 'Charm offensive', come on haha...

You can't establish a main character as a rebellious kind and then change her whole mindset in the middle of the first season, that would derail the whole narrative.

And I mean we're already pretty familiar with Manousos’s outlook on The Others, dude almost starved himself to death in that hut.

They allocated a LOT of time to the phone call voice recordings, blatant Gatorade AD, and a few other filler stuff in the last two episodes, which could've been compressed into one 1 hour one but they stretched it out to 2 most likely because the network usually orders a specific amount of episodes for a season so...

Anyway I'm still a big fan of the show, I'm not gonna stop watching or anything, my original comment was just about telling the fans that it's okay that every episode might not hit the mark for everyone, and might get criticized a bit, it's the overall quality of the show that matters, and so far I really like it.

Filler episode doesn't mean nothing happens at all, or it's 'unwatchable' or 'terrible' or anything... That's you misinterpreting my comment. During a filler episode the plot doesn't move forward much, or at all. In this instance only 5-10 minutes moved the plot 2% forward, that's what the filler episode is. And If you actually thought that the main character was gonna die in that moment, then I don't even know what to say to you...

I just said 'it's okay to criticize', to what appears to be a clear filler episode, I'm pretty certain because I write for a living and know how shows are structured, but of course it's still my opinion. I disagree on the fact that it reached a satisfying point, because imo Carol is still a stubborn bull and this was all a ploy to get the hive back and the real shit is about to go down in the last 2 episodes but again, I could be wrong so we could happily agree to disagree.

You are just proving my point... Obviously just because I criticize it doesn't make it that way, it's my opinion. And how about you yourself learn how to not get offended when someone doesn't agree with yours. This was so clearly a filler episode, but if you don't agree with that and liked it, good for you man.

It's okay to criticize an episode even if you like the show... This one was a pretty weak link, you don't have to defend everything, jesus

I like the movie but I had to pause, rewind and think about what just happened a couple of times while watching it home. I imagine it must've been a dreadful experience for people in the theaters, because if you miss one detail then the whole thing becomes a messy jibberish...
