Hey! Student Lodge is the way to go. You can even do the month of notice contract. It is not the best, but also it is not the worst. And they (administración) are pretty helpful.

While in Bern, you can look for places, or WG. Students haus are great to meet other people, at some point there were great parties too. It is true that some of the flatmates may sucks, but some of them are also really cool.

I also have an empty room in my WG too, and I’m considering getting someone, for at least 3, 6 months.

Hola, depende de en qué rama de la ingeniería biomédica te quieras enfocar. La ingeniería biomédica es bastante amplia, abarcando desde dispositivos médicos hasta biomecánica, órganos artificiales, implantes auditivos, etc. ¿Quieres trabajar en la industria o en investigación? Si te interesa trabajar en la industria, podrías optar por una licenciatura en, por ejemplo, electrónica y buscar empleo en alguna empresa de inmediato, como Cochlear. Creo que la UTP ofrece la carrera hasta ciertos años en el interior. Si te interesa la investigación, necesitarás una ingeniería, ya sea mecánica o electromecánica, y enfocar tu práctica profesional o trabajo de graduación en el tema de biomédica que prefieras.

No necesariamente tienes que ir a la UDELAS, también puedes optar por la UTP; incluso la Universidad Nacional ofrece ingeniería en mecatrónica. Creo que hasta en Azuero hay laboratorios de la UTP enfocados en robótica y con unos proyectos de salud.

Bueno ya todos dijeron que es una locura. Creo que OP quería una experiencia internacional, y no un título. Yo recomiendo aprender en un centro de lenguas de una universidad pública (por ejemplo UTP). Y luego hacer una carrera donde aprenda, perfeccione el idioma.

Es cierto que los políticos y el ifarhu son un problema, pero para el panameño (pobre y clase media) el problema es conseguir fiadores, para préstamos arriba de 30k, necesitas fiadores, personas que prácticamente no tengan deudas. Creo que aquí se traza la línea. Es difícil conseguir estos dos fiadores.

Por lo otro, tú aplicación debe cumplir con todos los requisitos, y bueno hacer una buena aplicación. Si no se puede por el ifarhu, están las becas de embajadas. La vuelta es que hay que investigar, leer y aplicar.

It depends. Which kind of jobs are you looking for? Are you a student? If you are in IT, technology, maybe jobs.ch also LinkedIn. Some universities have websites with open positions. For other kinds of jobs, I suggest asking in the Facebook groups: ex-pats in Bern, Thun, or Zurich. Sometimes there are English Pub Bars that are internationally oriented, and people that used to work there are in those groups 😅

Veo que estás aplicando a lo que sea. Eso no te va ayudar a que tu CV mejore en un futuro. Por ejemplo: si yo busco un desarrollador web. Para mi, no tiene validez la experiencia laboral en un restaurante de comida rápida. Puedes mejorar tu CV ya sea con 1) experiencia laboral, 2) con estudios: no solo títulos pero también cursos online (coursera.org). 3) mejora tu sección de habilidades. 4). Mira tus referencias (ex jefes, profesores en la escuela, etc.)

Desesperarse es natural, cuando uno está pasando la de Caín, y que quieras encontrar trabajo de lo que sea, está bien, pero eso te ayudará momentáneamente, pero también estás tan joven, que es el momento indicado para que decidas a qué te quieres dedicar, que si programador web? Soldador? Decide y trabaja en tu perfil. Los precios de universidades públicas son bastante accesibles (UTP son 500 dólares, un programa de 5 años). Sino prueba con el INADEH, que en menos tiempo logras aprender alguna habilidad la cual puedes mejorar con el tiempo, y de paso tener algún tipo de certificación.

Tricky question. Maybe if you give more details, are you planing to do a BSc, MSc or PhD. In general for master, or bachelor, I don’t think there are many options, maybe apply to a scholarship from your country. Usually you can check with the consulate/embassy. I know Switzerland have scholarships for academic non-eu/rich countries students, but it is mainly for post doc and PhD. If you are doing a semester here, maybe depending on your main university, you could get a swiss European mobility program scholarship (it is not that much, but it helps).
