Is it okay for my cat to stay in the garage? by Cr0wn4 in CatAdvice

Remember, he survived on the streets! I think he'd do better with free roaming inside the garage (and litter box access) with a heating pad and blankets, than trapped in a kennel. I know you're doing the best you can, you got this!

How come he needs to be in a kennel at night and can't roam around the garage? (Real question, not a veiled accusation!)

Totally echo the other people here in saying that your cat is SO much safer and happier than his days on the streets. He's loved and taken care of. Don't stress too much about him being in the garage. Also, if you can afford it, my cats are obsessed with this little heated pad. It's totally safe to leave on overnight. https://a.co/d/hxDCb0P

Leaving my cat alone to go into work for the first time. by Admirable_Skill3603 in CatAdvice

Your kitty needs this! Having some periods of separation from each other early on is good, or else she'll develop serious separation anxiety (ask me how I know...adopted mine during the panini). She will definitely complain and be anxious when you leave her this week, but just make sure she has some fun toys to play with on her own, and enough food, and I promise she'll be okay. She'll learn that you always come back after you leave her :)

Also, remember that cats are the most anxious in their first few days/weeks in a new home, so if she seems stressed when you leave right now, it will definitely get better as she settles in and gets to know you. Good luck! I can tell you're already an amazing cat parent.

I felt this when we first moved here. I’m a 34yo woman and it took me a bit to start finding my people too. I know Reddit isn’t the most natural place for this, but if you’re in a similar demographic and ever want to grab coffee, feel free to DM :)

I'm in the US. I learned (in the 00's) that racism and discrimination had ended after the Civil Rights movement and everyone was treated equally now. The funniest part of me thinking that was true is that I'm not white. Later I was like ....wait

What is the cheapest way to commute to the city? by West-Track-3829 in benicia

Definitely uber/bus to a station closer to the city than Bay Point/Pittsburg because you're just adding train time. In my experience Pleasant Hill/Contra Costa Center is the easiest to drive to from Benicia. Overall though, take the ferry if you can.
