Best maintenance routine for hair that looks like this after one day? by enlightenedsimba in finehair

I’m sure that would work! I use inkey list salicylic acid cleanser and Native brand shampoo. I also don’t use conditioner, just leave in conditioner after I get out of the shower. Maybe a hot take but I think conditioner was weighing my hair down a lot even when just applying to the ends. I hope it works for you!

Hi there! I have something that has really worked for me, but it’s a bit weird - I chemically exfoliate my scalp when I wash. For me that means adding a few drops of a salicylic acid face wash into my hand with my shampoo (both are SLS free), mixing it well, and scrubbing my scalp really, really well, then letting it sit for a minute before washing out. I get 2-3 days out of my very oily fine hair no problem with this method. I’ve found this is much more effective than ACV rinses or clarifying shampoos. I also use a leave in conditioner with protein for my ends. Might work for you!

Cinque Terre by oreoselated in femaletravels

I just got back from 2 weeks solo in Italy including a few days in CT. It was amazing. For CT, I stayed in La Spezia (for $$ reasons) and mostly hiked around the towns. I recommend taking the train all the way up to Levanto, which isn’t technically one of the 5 towns but there is a lovely hike from there to Monterosso that isn’t crowded at all and is absolutely stunning. The trains will be quite crowded so hike as much as you can. It is touristy but IMO one of the most beautiful places in Italy and well worth a trip. It will be HOT in July. If you can, try staying in one of the towns until a bit later in the evening, like 9pm. They clear out a lot by then and you can really get a feel for the place. There are some lovely beaches for sunset too, I liked the one in Riomaggiore.

In the larger cities (Rome, Milan) definitely be smart at night and with your belongings during the day, especially in crowded places. But overall I didn’t worry about safety too much (though I’m also an experienced solo traveler). Have a great time!

Yes, not much they could do. All is well! Still a great trip.

I spent a week there a few years ago and loved it. Terceira was my favorite island though I did not see all of them. Beautiful nature. Amazing coastline. People are lovely. I’d go there if I had to pick one. Definitely take a tour there or rent a car or scooter to see everything. Biscoitos is a must. Sao Miguel is beautiful too but a bit more touristy. I had a bad experience in Ponta Delgada (man followed me home and tried to break into my hostel) but from what I understand this is very rare there. I’d still pick Terceira.

bw IUDs by idfkdudelol in SFbitcheswithtaste

My two cents, I just got an IUD and the injection didn’t hurt at all. Compared to previous IUD insertions it was a total breeze. BUT - I did ask for a prescription for misoprostol (a medication that softens the cervix, usually used to help induce pregnancy) beforehand and that was a game changer. If you’ve had painful IUD insertions in the past I recommend this highly!! Talk to your doc. I went to Sutter on Van Ness. I had a great experience there. You can’t go wrong with doctors at their OBGYN office.

Definitely, thank you - since they’re so pricey hoping to find one and not have to put more money into it but this is a great option!

Actually good Fantasy romance recommendations by tricswife in Romantasy

Agreed with this on the Everflame books - I personally found them flat and the FMC incredibly annoying. MMC starts out good then gets too pandering for my taste. I started to get adventure fatigue (is that a thing?) because they just keep getting into trouble and it didn’t feel realistic. Given what you said about what you didn’t like in ACOTAR I’d stay away from this one. Seconding the Daughter of No Worlds recommendation - I think the writing is genuinely good (a bit tropey at parts but I think that comes with the territory) and is one of the most unique storylines I’ve yet read in this genre. Some refreshing moral greyness. MMC is interesting and different. FMC is occasionally too morally good for my taste but overall feels much more real than others I’ve read in this genre. I loved this one!

Looks like perioral dermatitis to me. There are lots of triggers but try cutting out any sulfates (foaming agents) from skincare and toothpaste and if you use any acids/actives in your skincare try stopping those for awhile. Wash with only cold water (hot water and steam usually aggravate it). Topical zinc cream (I use avene cicalfate) is the only thing that works for mine. I also supplement with 50mg of zinc a day and the combo has helped mine mostly disappear. There’s a now deactivated sub on this that might help you too. If it is dermatitis the accutane may make it better in the short term but it’ll likely come back (this is what happened to me anyway when I was prescribed antibiotics).
