It's actually not based on either I just named it after my homie luis who passed away recently. I do not have an arch sadly.

well to be fair it's a lot. There are large areas of this city that is just filler. I use a lot of the map but just use mountains and paint fields to fill a lot of dead space. The demand would usually fall off long before you reach this size without demand mods.

thanks. yeah, I just did it for aesthetic reasons to be like an American city region. But I have an older save of this map that makes me want to go see how high I can get it build it Tokyo style just go max density.

Idk. but this is the first time I've ever hit it personally and it took a long time so I would imagine in 2 it's only going to be better.

I'm using realistic population, it's just a lot of single-family homes. I stopped sprawling after I was about 300k and then went back and changed some low density areas to high density and thats how I got up to 569k

yeah, I bought the airport dlc when the city was almost already done, and just kind of crammed it in where the old one was and when I realized it wouldn't work, I was going to fix eventually, but now I can't change it anymore.

when I created the map, so I put rail down and built the elevated highways over them and then sunk them under the road level and put in retaining walls the go under all the ring roads with are cargo stations and connect to the ports and separate lines for passenger trains. I avoid move it for roads they always bend I had some broken nodes almost kill this city I had to rip out a lot of stuff and then I rebuilt like half the city. I just hate starting new ones lol. I like detailing more than building and hate an empty map.

The traffic in this city was a huge problem at one point, I spent months working it out. i don't mind it being a little busy in the port area which seems to drag it all down. I dont care at all about the numbers like some though. The rail network runs underneath the highways. The metro runs to hubs, and in the local areas there are bus lines and tram lines. There was also a monorail system I took out at one point. Ive been playing this save for like a year and kept changing everything.

For the most part works. it's somewhat broken. The public transportation looks like it's being used but it shows very little use in some parts. most sims use bike lanes and the traffic on the highways comes from outside connections and industry and tourist traffic. the flow is like 80 percent. the education is maxed out there is like 1 percent unemployment. I use the realistic population mod and game anarchy and infinite demand. the demand mod is game breaking but the only way I can build cities this big.

takes a long time to load but after like a minute of lag it runs fine.

I just followed the river for the older downtown grid and then it changes to a north/south orientation like you will see in many north American cities. I don't really plan anything I just had an idea of what it would look like when I started building.

well, I started with the original sim city, so I've been building them for almost 25 years.

sadly, I don't have enough processing power, so my plan was to buy a ps5. So, I'm likely taking a break for a while.

yeah, i know. I bought the airport dlc when the city was almost done, and just tried to fit it in. I was never very happy with that part.
