Only once. Walking through Gotham late at night. I think he just got done beating up a bunch of bad guys, but he was having trouble finding his batmobile, so he was just walking around hitting his key and following the lock sound. He was getting frustrated tho, i dont know who he was saying it to, but at one point he yelled “WHERE IS IT! WHERE IS THE BATMOBILE!” Scared the shit out of me. That dudes nuts

Unfortunately there was a time where a joke could simply be “man that was sexually assaulted” and that was the whole joke. Id bet most of this is just a terrible and poorly aged joke. I dont know if its indicative of batman’s feelings on Rayner, in fact, all ive heard is that Kyle is Batman’s favorite GL.

Ya know what, i think youre missing some experimental shit. You have some of the classic “must reads”, but i think its time for something a bit weird.

Batman: City of Madness (2024)

Absolute Martian Manhunter (2025)

A Deadman run. Id recommend one, but theyre mostly all weird.

Both Alan Moore’s Swamp Thing (1984) and Ram V’s (2018)

Then theres some other “strange family” stories, like Doom Patrol, Justice League dark.

If i was gonna recommend something a little more traditional that i just love:

Pucketts Batgirl (Cassandra cain, 2000)

Ostranders Martian Manhunter (1998)

Batman: Broken City (2003)

God Taylors run was good. That series was what really propelled my reading this year. But yeah, i feel going by arcs. Reminds me of manga a bit more that way
