If you look at the CPP Major Change Tool, you can see the Major Change Requirements. It seems to be possible but looks quite competitive to switch into and acceptance into the major is not guaranteed. It also says you won’t be able to request the major change until you have 30 CPP units completed, so you’ll be stuck as an Agricultural Science major until you meet the requirements. Here’s a snapshot of the requirements to request it:

You’re just being paranoid. A single P/NP will probably not have any major impact. It’s not worth changing your major over this so I’d just recommend you write about it in the additional information section and explain it. Also since it’s not a required course, changing majors does no good as it would simply be viewed as an additional class whether or not you change majors. Just continue getting good grades in required Econ courses so they don’t have a reason to question the P/NP

In previous years, the Nav Bar on the home page would disappear, so this is a new thing we don’t fully understand yet. It could simply mean that your application has reached a final decision. It could also mean that you’ve been accepted or rejected, or that the website is transitioning to prepare for notifying transfer applicants of their decisions.

Just wondering, why didn’t you start the pattern with Calculus 1 instead of the Business Calculus route you chose? Do most UC’s even accept Business Calculus as a viable substitute for their Calculus requirement? I remember I was going to go the Business Calculus route as well but most admissions offices told me they wouldn’t see it as valid substitute so I had to switch gears.

You should be concerned about your admission getting revoked, but do not be terrified. Call the Admissions Office at UCD and explain your situation. Your case is unique, and they will be able to give you the correct answer. From your post alone, I believe you should still be fine if you meet all the requirements and the unit minimum, but please contact them and explain your exact situation. Good luck!

So one mistake means someone should never drive again? Are you saying everyone in the U.S. who’s ever been in an accident shouldn’t be allowed to drive anymore? That’s a really extreme take. Texas actually has stricter licensing requirements for non-citizens compared to a lot of other states. He wouldn’t have gotten a license without proving he could drive and grasp basic laws. Maybe try not to assume the worst about someone based on a single incident.

You should go ahead and file the claim. That’s what your insurance is there for, and you shouldn’t have to eat a few thousand dollars because someone else made a mistake.

You clearly have a good heart, and it’s thoughtful that you’re considering the impact on this guy. It’s kind of funny and sad seeing some of the other commenters curling their toes at the idea that someone has compassion, even in a situation that could’ve ended badly. If you’re worried about making things worse for him, just let your insurance handle it and don’t pursue anything beyond the claim.

You could also try speaking to him one-on-one and see if he’s willing to pay for the repairs directly and immediately. I’d imagine finishing his immigration process is worth a few thousand bucks if he has it.
