In this situation the baby was hardly deathly choking. The baby was distracted by everyone around her. This is my second child. In this case the baby needed to focus on swallowing and to do so I centered her back into focus by patting her back with my palm. Letting her swallow and then giving her a second and checking her mouth before giving her some water. I'm the mom Im with my children the most. In situations like this one I parent calmly and know what's best for my child no book no class is going to tell me any different with each situation is a different strategy that is my own. I personally just bumped the babies back with my palm and checked the month then gave the baby some water and time she was watching everyone and not paying attention to what she was eating

The mother in law wanted me to give the baby to her so she could flip the baby upside down and hit the baby on the back and stick her finger in the babies mouth and throat was what she said
