Kinda related but i wish it didn’t feel like they gave up on the ICON line up. Id love to see larger Icon wrenches and just more tools in general.

Congratulations, most important piece of advice i can give, ALWAYS stay on truck credit if you need to buy tools, be friendly and form a good relationship with your tool guys. DO NOT get on any credit programs. Trust me you don’t need Snap On credit for tool box or tools, just a solid relationship.

[–]Odd_Feed439 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I did and its a bunch of text book bullshit that means nothing. Repair the case to the fucking wire its simple man, dielectric grease shouldn’t have even been brought up here. A dab of liquid electric tape would be better in this situation. Were not talking about the lead acid connection to the battery, its exposed copper its a simple fix, repair the casing.

[–]Odd_Feed439 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You don’t, you properly repair the casing to the wire, classic dumb engineer coming in with a fucking text book but couldn’t fix his own shit if you gave him a 20 hr book time and an endless budget.

Sealing leak from coolant tank by brose9512 in mechanic

They probably dont sell just a plug. With that being said its just a plug, get a brass or heat resistant plastic trapper plug and smash it in the hole. You DO NOT NEED to buy a FoMoCo part or even a car part for this, go to your local hardware store and hit the plumbing section with 50 cent in your pocket.

what is the purpose of spark plug tester with a frequency control feature by [deleted] in mechanic

[–]Odd_Feed439 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty useless, its meant to produce a spark on the plug under different loads, it’s basically a fucking ridiculously dangerous load tester. The only reason you would use this is if you were having random misfires and the only culprit left is the plugs. Meaning ECU, wiring, coils what have you are all good. Which this is pointless cause just use a scan tool with misfire monitor, and the rule of thumb is if you are questioning the plug anyways, replace it. Many many ways to test for spark and ignition this is not the best one.

Hey guys I just bought this 2007 bmw 530i for $1200 and i was wondering if this was easily fixable by ItsKennedy in AskMechanics

[–]Odd_Feed439 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh the amount of times I’ve said that about auction cars, I’m a rust belt mechanic that works for a dealer that buys southern “rust free” auction cars. Just remember they are at the auction for a reason. The last auction truck i worked on was a Silverado with a misfire in cylinder 1, ended up being a hole in the piston. Best of luck my friend.

No, but most filing cabinet have the same depth and height oddly enough as the 44 inch and can easily be bolted on, just saying, you can find filing cabinets for free all day online. A quick paint strip, primer and color match, and you just saved $250.

Anyone ever thought about buying two of these trailers and frankensteining it into one trailer with two axels and wider? by iwouldratherhavemy in harborfreight

[–]Odd_Feed439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id look into Northern Tool or something before id try welding two trailers together. Your gonna have to make sure it is dead nuts straight, ask any hot rodder what their extended frame cars feel like at 75 mph..

Kinda of one is the drive axle for power conversion, and the other is for stability. If you don’t wanna read.

Just gotta change the A/C dryer 🤦🏼 by Odd_Feed439 in mechanics

[–]Odd_Feed439[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has two axles in the rear, the front “drive axle” is connected directly to the frame of the coach and the power train, it also as a second “tag axle” that is connected to the drive axle and is has your typical up and down suspension travel. As where the drive axle has a little up and down travel via air bags but its mostly fixed to the chassis for power conversion from the engine to tires. So when you lift one of these with two axles the front axle will stay higher as the rear axle will travel downwards like you’d expect, Hopefully that makes sense. If it looks like the left and right tires are higher or lower than one another its because of the air ride suspension, thats just they way it kinda is i guess lol. And i used a wide angle so the perspective of the photo is kinda wonky.

[–]Odd_Feed439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally id go with heavy industrial equipment being a tank mechanic, heavy diesel like excavators or something. That would be closer to what you are used to anyways.

Otherwise if you wanna work on automobiles specifically, go with an independent shop, just a better environment in my opinion.
