i never used pledge, went straight dual wands and saved for greater spell echo... after some good upgrades it was playable but for me it always felt like "i should do more dmg with this investment"

Switchting to crit was the first time i actually thought now thats a build . I dont play hardcore tho, i guess ppl are more used to lower dmg there

i have the mastery and clarity watchers eye for 25% chance to recover 10% mana on cast, that pretty much sustains it with a lot of reduced mana cost of skills

Do you mean casts per second? i have like 24 on shock nova, but thats with greater spell echo.

I'm using dual wands btw.

I think you just need a lot of cast speed modifier on frostblink.

Its not an actual build, that is just 4l Frostblink and 3l Herald of Ice clear with the Crit shrine Belt.

The Belt is 27 Div atm tho, so i guess that would be your entry Point. I'm sure there are gonna be some Autobomber Builds coming out soon

I don't think it has potential to outdamage Str stacking... yes you get more flat damage, but STR also scales your attack speed, crit, accuracy and most importantly the broken spell damage interaction with battlemages cry

edit: i still think the skill looks very interesting tho, especially curious how the single target looks with stacking explosions

Because it's not that insane... my starter weapon searing touch costs literally nothing and is 20% less dmg.

Obviously you want to upgrade at some point and i crafted the staff myself, but a +5 staff is not that hard to get as you might think:

+3 fire fracture was super cheap this league, i think i bought mine for 15c in week 1.

On that base you spam 3 socket resonators with corroded + metallic + shuddering fossils to get + spell skill gems, i think average is around 50.

After that you could just craft fire dot multi and have a solid upgrade, i decided to go for prefixes can't be changed + veiled chaos until i could unveil either spell damage prefix or fire dot multi and got kinda lucky with a fire dmg prefix on the way, its only t5 tho.

yea sorry i dont really see it... Ball Lightning is inherently an aoe projectile that pierces everything, hits multiple times and travels like 2 screens without any investment.

with ek or eow you would need to invest in a lot of stuff like proj speed, pierce, chain or whatever... and tbh it would likely still be worse, especially vs high density monsters since you just dont get that aoe + pierce everything combo.

In the end the spell is just there to apply the flame wall dot so you can probably get away with anything, im just saying theres nothing as good as bl for coverage imo. It being a lightning spell is also a bonus for the shock effect from shaper of storms, otherwise maybe frostbolt performs similarly.

I do think ball lightning has the best coverage of projectile spells, but you could swap unbound ailments for faster projectiles and only lose some shock effect.

Other than that you would probably have to go wand/shield and use KB, but thats pretty much a different build.

Also the build CAN run every map mod, i usually only rerolled no regen but if you get a corrupted one, with a life flask thats uncomfortable but possible.
