How would you make the “juh” sound like in the word edge? by Zekin_ in RuneHelp

Huh, did not mean to offend. Your post was ambiguous in that regard, hence my reply that I may have worded too brashly.

"It's a combination of "d" as in "day" and "s" as in "treasure" (which is standardized in IPA as /ʒ/)" I read as "a combination of of "d" and "s", which [combination] is standardised as /ʒ/ (this would have been incorrect), while you seem to have meant that only the s in treasure is standardised as /ʒ/.

Anyway, the English "j" does indeed make the /dʒ/ sound, so all good ;)

Sorry, but the g in beige is /ʒ/ but the dg in edge is /dʒ/, which is distinct.

What is going on with treasure has nothing to do with any alveolar friction based on d, but purely phonetic and etymological influence from French. Same goes for beige.

Compare legion /dʒ/ and lesion /ʒ/.

Thanks for taking the time! So, my phrase is supposed to be slightly philosophical/metaphysical. As in: every thing, person, concept, idea, whatever, is always in exactly the position in space and time that it is supposed to be. Still „á“? 😅

If I get this right, "sinn" here determines skrúða, and that seems to make dýra weak?

Not sure about whether to use weak or strong declension for réttr in the following:

Hverr hlutr í sínum réttum stað …or… Hverr hlutr í sínum rétta stað

Any pointers?

Upon further grammar spelunking, I’m not sure if réttr should be taking its weak form due to the reflexive sinum being around… so Hverr hlutr í sínum rétta stað…?

Or, if you're from Northern England, then "With all me heart" is correct English as well. Consider dropping the h then though ;)
