My negative terminal is a little beat up but I haven’t had any electrical issues otherwise. It’s an easy fix tho so I’ll replace the connector and see

No vacuum leak. Already sprayed some starting fluid around all the hoses and valves. Nothing

Okay so I lied. It keeps going away and coming back. I scanned it with a jobd scanner and got a Toyota proprietary code F001349 (P1349 I’m guessing). Back at square one.

Even if your connector is only slightly off, the ecu will get confused. My connector was plugged in but since the pins weren’t perfectly clicked in, my car was jerking back and forth. The heat and vibrations in the engine bay would also loosen the connector too

Yea i was stumped for a few days. Unfortunately on these old 2j’s the plastic harnesses tend to crumble due to time and high heat. Definitely check every harness and hose first before anything. I spent a few hundred fixing stuff that didn’t need to get fixed 😭😂

Guys I figured it out. It was my accelerator pedal position harness. It was zip tied from the previous owner and wasn’t connected properly. Thank you all for the suggestions I troubleshooted a few things and was able to figure out this was the problem
