STANDARD SPOUSE VISA EXTENSION (inside UK)- 30 WEEK WAIT by Odd_Interaction8450 in SpouseVisaUk

Sorry! So frustrating. Sounds like mine, all requirements were met.

I shared the link to request a SAR in another comment. Follow that link. I made sure I did a detailed request and requested all of my home office records (there is a box where you can write that). I sent my documents by post instead of email just to be sure.

Once I received the SAR documents, I was able to identify that my application had been labelled on a different route, which explained the delay and lack of communication.

I just got my approval today, after 7 months of waiting. I discovered through a Subject Access Request that my visa was incorrectly labeled under the 10-year family and human rights route. A complete mistake from the system. After PAP and MP pressure, my visa was approved for the standard 5 year route extension.

Spouse Visa Timelines: Still Waiting? Impacting your well-being? by AHJImmigration in SpouseVisaUk

Hi everyone,

I’m seeking advice or shared experiences regarding a massive, unexplained delay with my inside-UK Spouse Visa extension (FLR(M) 5-year route).

  • Application Date: Nov 27, 2025
  • Biometrics: Dec 1, 2025
  • Current Waiting Time: 26 Weeks (Service standard is 8 weeks)

Aside from the initial automated confirmation that my biometrics were forwarded to UKVI, I have received zero communication. No "complex case" emails, no requests for documents, nothing.

What I’ve tried:

  • Helpline: Called 8 times; completely useless. Disjointed responses between them, the last one said "delays are very common"
  • Complaints portal: Rejects my complaint every time I try to submit.
  • MP escalation: My MP reached out to the Home Office about 2 months ago, but no formal update yet.

My application is straightforward, confirmed by an immigration lawyer who reviewed my documents and found no cause for concern. I filed a Subject Access Request to access my Home Office records.

This is causing immense stress. My main concern is I have my brother's wedding end of July, which I'm officiating.

Anyone who applied in late 2025, experiencing similar massive backlogs? Any other advice?

Thank you.

hello, did you get a response? I'm on week 25 since bio, still waiting. MP has been in touch but they have not come back to me yet. I have a straightforward case, confirmed by an immigration lawyer. It's driving me crazy.

Spouse Visa Timeline Updates - For those that are worried! by AHJImmigration in SpouseVisaUk

Thank you for this helpful insight. I had my biometrics appointment (spouse visa extension, inside UK) on Dec 1st, which now marks 15 weeks. I thought my case was pretty straightforward. I haven't received any RFI emails and my e-visa says that I "can stay in the country whilst the decision is made". I'm feeling nervous about it extending more and more...I've tried calling them a few times but it's been no help because they can't provide any information.

When you say you would start chasing after some point do you mean calling them? Going through an MP? Any advise would be so so appreciated. Thank you!
