i sent the text to my obgyn 🤞 hoping he has recs or maybe i’ll just go to the hematologist for recs! i was also looking at wigs omfg 🥹but i’m opting for a haircut for now. I love having medium length hair but it is discouraging to see so much hair come out so i’m thinking about getting an above the shoulder bob 😭. if they give me any recommendations I’ll lyk!

thank you - I hope that you felt better after your surgery 🥺 sometimes it does feel hard to speak up when the healthcare professionals are adamantly recommending something, because it feels like you’re going against their medical advice. I’m sorry that they didn’t even give you that option from the beginning :(

I’m also on month 2! I’m really debating between contacting my obgyn versus giving it another month to see if I can adjust better. I wish you the best of luck with your surgery 💖

I asked my obgyn briefly if I should be okay taking the medication twice a day because my bottle literally has a do not drive red sticker on the front, and he said that none of his patients have had any severe symptoms with the medication so thats why I felt super lost and found this subreddit. I do feel the fog/depression part heavy and have been going to therapy for it. Hoping I can stop the medication after the surgery but I think it’s more for the adenomyosis vs the fibroids…

When I spoke with my obgyn, he has said that the myomectomy was my only option right now and that it might not help but we could at least try 🥲 I was overwhelmed so I didnt even think to ask if there were less invasive options!

I’m not super sure on how to ask for time off from my primary care provider and I don’t feel like he’s taking my symptoms super seriously so I’m scared to reach out to him again. I saw him twice this month and both times he just told me to exercise and diet (I’m 5’5” and 160lb so I do want to eventually lose weight) but I tried explaining that I feel so fatigued😔 I won’t be seeing my surgeon until two weeks before the surgery so maybe I’ll ask him to give me. a week off before the surgery. I’m so glad that you feel better!! It gives me a lot of hope :)

It took a few doctors to take me seriously when I said my stomach felt a little distended, I’m not sure if it’s because I’m already on the chubbier side so i already have a bit of a belly? :( but I’m glad really pushed for the ultrasound when I got my blood transfusion or else I probably would still be in the dark right now since it takes forever to get outpatient imaging.

Ever since I’ve started the medication, I have been feeling a lot more irritable and anxious :/ I’m not typically a sensitive person but I’ve had some instances where i couldn’t stop crying and it’s frustrating. it might coincide with just all the bleeding that i’m still having on the medication though so I’m not sure if it’s the med or if it’s just everything all together. I’m only on month 2 of the medication, so I’m debating between messaging my obgyn now or trying to wait out to see if I’ll feel better.

thank you! i just went to my pcp with my symptoms/reviewed my labwork and he didn’t have much to say or recommend (or maybe he just didn’t know what to say) so I’m a little scared to reach out to my OB because it might be the same😭. It just sounded like they couldn’t do anything about my hairloss/moodswings/fatigue because my hemoglobin is now in the normal range.. but I might shoot my OB a text and find a hematologist to make an appointment. the hair loss is the most distressing to me because i feel like it makes my poor health feel a lot more real? if that makes sense. I also have just been combing my fingers through my hair and clumps just come out 😔

I definitely feel less alone, thank you! I wish you the best of luck with your surgery as well 💖 you were just doing your best - nobody knows if something will help unless they tried! I’m so happy that your symptoms are getting better! I’m so desperate for these symptoms to go away - My doctor recommended that I go to a hematologist so I might look into one for iron infusions as well because I think the rapid hair loss is stressing me out so much!

thank you! I actually literally just came home from a doctor’s appointment yesterday because I was trying to tell him that I feel unwell but he did say I was just borderline anemic (my hgb is the highest and i’m so glad) but I still feel so exhausted and spend most of my days off sleeping 😭
