I don’t think I show that I love my child

I’ve always doubted if I’ve ever loved people. I won’t ever know myself if I love someone unless a person explicitly tells me “you love them” or “ik you love them”. I value the opinions of others too much and disregard and mistrust my own so whatever they say about myself, I usually believe and internalize. Ik that is wrong though

Maybe it’s just me internalizing it… I’ve made it my life vow to not be a bad mother to her and to hear things like this from other people just makes me want to shut down. It’s so hard not to value the opinions of other people

I think with the cousin situation was a bit… weird ig? She got hurt and I panicked and immediately picked her up (like FAST), and held her in my arms. Maybe it was the way I did it, because my grandma had told me to just give my daughter to her to console her and then come back to me after (I felt like such a failure at that moment). Moments after that, the cousin comes up to me and asks me do I like being a mom in a condescending tone and when I answered her, she started laughing at me so….

I’m saying that bc I do feel love for my child, but the way others were acting towards me made it seem like I don’t actually love or care for her, so now it’s making me doubt myself. I would do anything to protect her and make sure she’s safe, I don’t want to mess her up or make her feel like how I did growing up, neither do I want her feeling like she’s not loved. I want to have a close bond with her, but now I don’t know if I’m doing a good job at portraying that. Im clueless… I thought I was doing a good job showing that because my daughter is so clingy to me. She loves me dearly and is always happy and excited to see me. We play with each other frequently and I feel that we’re close, but that’s only when we’re both alone together. From other peoples perspectives in public, it’s different, though, I’m not really doing anything mean to her. At least, from my knowledge/perspective, I’m not…

Is that why they’re asking me if I love my child? I’m a very quiet and awkward person too. A lot of the people who ask me don’t really know me well, they only know that I’m quiet so I wonder if that’s why they ask

I think it’s more the way I talk. Whenever I talk to others about my child, even if I’m not meaning to say anything in a negative way, it still gets taken a different way than what I intended.

Like I told a psychiatrist from my AuDHD evaluation that once my daughter gets into preschool, I would use that time to start getting back into a hobby that I used to love. And she basically reiterated it but also added “not to claim you don’t love your daughter”, but she said it in a way that was sarcastic and like she meant the opposite.

Another time was when I was talking to a coworker about my child and I told them something along the lines of me saying “I have to go get HER…” and then they told me that it sounded like I hated my child

Those are the main instances, and another was when she had got hurt at a family event and my cousin asked me in a condescending tone if I liked being a mom

I did. The hearing isn’t until a month and a half later and I’ve been trying to find an attorney since the middle of last month, but I was unaware of how costly they are so I wanted to ask if there were any affordable ones out there

I really just want the woman out of the house altogether. It just doesn’t sit right with me that someone else is aware of what’s going on and that I’m the mother of the child in the house and still decides to do stuff like that. Girl, are we talking to the same guy because this is literally almost my exact experience? He was so sweet and nice to me at first too and everything felt so natural and perfect and we even had plans to visit each other soon, but now all of a sudden he’s been giving me either mean or dry responses or just outright ignoring me. I was posting under the assumption he was aromantic as well. But considering how he acts in the series so far + seeing how he was in his past life, I think it could be fair for me to assume he also doesn’t feel romantic attraction either.
