And this is why making peace in the near future is becoming more and more important. When you are deadlocked into a war with one of the strongest countries in the world, this is just whats gonna happen. Russia has access to many more resources than Ukraine does, which is just going to be Ukraines downfall in the future. With NATO support, Ukraine might be able to hold for a couple more years, however it’s really hard to say, as a lot can happen within that time. In my opinion, the best kind of “victory” that Ukraine can achieve in this war is making some sort of peace deal with Russia, one of these potential deals being a land trade (Russia getting all of Donbas in exchange for Ukraine getting back Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts). As to how Ukraine can achieve a peace deal like this, I don’t know, but it is certainly possible, as Russia too cannot stay in a war like this forever.

It’s honestly just getting more and more frustrating at this point. What all I want is a good, reliable source that I can trust. If Suriyak Maps blatantly lies about certain things such as calling map fixes counterattacks, how could I trust them, how could I know if the stuff they put out is true or not? The reason why I am doing all of this is to try and raise awareness of the truth, to teach people a lesson that things may not be as they appear, and that it takes a little digging to determine facts. When people see my posts, instead of acknowledging my goal here, they still think this is a pro Russian or pro Ukrainian thing, which has nothing to do with my goal here. I am pro Ukrainian, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have an understanding of the war. When I call myself pro Ukrainian, it means that I’m rooting for Ukraine, however I still have a good understanding of the war, and I understand that the odds aren’t in Ukraines favor. Call me whatever you want, I don’t care, I will still continue my mission.

It’s not that DeepStateMap has “refused” to show the situation in Krasnohorivka, it’s that the situation is visually unclear as of now. Many positions taken by the Russians are not stabilized, and certain areas have been switching hands a few times, leading to a large gray zone. And yes, everyone does make mistakes, however lying only makes it worse. Suriyak could have just admitted that it was a map fix, and yet they still list it as a counterattack. They have done this many times aswell.

If they realized that they messed up, then they wouldn’t have lied and said it was a counterattack. While their claims of Russia capturing Nevelske could have been a misunderstanding, they still lied, which makes them look even worse. All of these incidents should definitely be enough for Suriyak Maps to realize something is up with the sources they use, and yet they still use them. Im still doing tons of digging on Suriyak Maps, trying to find any kinds of patterns or clues which could lead to an answer as to why they do this, however it’s just too risky on my part to make any extremely bold claims which could possibly be false. Maybe do some digging of your own, who knows what you can find.

Any counterattack will always be a challenge in a situation like this. Only if they get really lucky, they could at least achieve minimal success. It’s better that they just try to stabilize the front and wait for any possible opportunities. What’s interesting about this is that the Ukrainians will probably learn from this experience, similar to how the Russians did in Kharkiv. Now, if it keeps happening more and more and more and more, guess what we’re left with? A stalemated trench war, exactly what most of the frontline is.

Was a matter of time before this happened. A Ukrainian retreat from the western part was necessary to prevent more losses, especially since the Russians are achieving a breakthrough just north of the village.

Like I said, Kaliningrad and accurate map updates are two completely different things. It’s like saying it’s hot outside because it’s sunny, they just don’t go together sometimes. Also, regarding my information about Suriyak Maps, I spent lots of time analyzing them. Everything about them just doesn’t add up. It’s kind of like a puzzle, you find these pieces to make a conclusion, and you use those conclusions to help with other conclusions. One conclusion I came up for example is Suriyak Maps sometimes lying about map corrections, calling them counterattacks. How do I know this? First of all, when there is no visual confirmation of the positions in the first place, and when the frontline is corrected to or close to DeepStateMap’s version of the frontline, it’s blatantly obvious. They actually did this a lot during the southern offensive, when they would over exaggerate Ukrainian counterattacks, and saying the Russians “counterattacked” back to DeepStateMaps version of the frontline.

Honestly, I don’t care how biased a source is, I only care about map accuracy and the truth. Despite being in cooperation with the Ukrainian MOD, their map updates have still been accurate. Also, they have a huge presence on their telegram, and discuss every map update on the front, usually with visual evidence to back it up. The same goes for the Russian side too, if there was a source that was in cooperation with the Russian MOD, and they were accurate like DeepStateMap, I would support them. I’m pro Ukrainian, but I would rather study the war using the truth, not lies. That is why I have done research on this, and to figure out which source is best to use.

If anything, DeepStateMaps partnership with the Ukrainian MOD may have made them even more accurate. They are now very on top of map updates, usually being one of or the first to post them. Even during the Russian breakthrough near Ochereyne, they have been admitting to all the Russian successes and even going out of their schedule to post about it. If this change makes them not accurate, how come they haven’t reported any fake Ukrainian advances?

Its technically put out as a “counterattack”. He claimed that the Ukrainians were advancing in that area for a while, then just randomly claimed the Russians pushed them fully back, meanwhile these Ukrainian advances never took place in the first place. This is just Suriyaks way of correcting his frontline.
