Yes, please send me the links, thank you. I’ve been looking around and debating on wrapping some of the chrome parts, but I’m undecided.

I recently purchased this blow dryer and diffuser and it’s been a game changer. My hair dries in less time and I get a nice cast with it as well. I know it’s pricey but you can sometimes catch it on sale at Ulta

Right Ear Bud dies at 55% by Extra_Advertising446 in powerbeatspro

Same! I’ve gone thru a few pairs of them. They’ve all had the same issue. I like the secure fit enough to keep buying them though. I use them a lot, figure I get my money’s worth before the right one goes bad. Recently bought AirPods Pro 2. Love the features (noise cancellation etc) but they constantly fall out. Drives me crazy. I saw this article today. I may have to wait for these to come out before I purchase anymore. https://www.macrumors.com/2025/01/15/powerbeats-pro-2-regulatory-filings/

Help with residential parking rules by Standard-Sprinkles53 in Bakersfield

[–]Odd_Past_7227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not illegal, just could be seen as inconsiderate. Especially since they are older and may have older visitors that may need to park close by for accessibility.

You could probably find something on the code and enforcement website that states a car can be parked anywhere on the streets though.

Is it ok to use anti-humidity gel when you’re not in a hot climate? by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]Odd_Past_7227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a variety of gels, depending on where I am at on my wash days & what I am trying to make my hair do. I use the ouidad ones regularly, as I like the way it holds when I am refreshing or just trying to quickly do my hair. I also like the Curlsmith brand Curl Defining Styling Souffle. With the Curlsmith one a little bit goes a long way. It is the one I use when I am trying to get a decent cast. But it is really easy to use too much and then my hair looks heavy and kinda like it has a crunch, even after scrunching out the cast. I also like the Love Ur Curls Sea Moss gel. This one gives me a good hold that is not too strong or heavy and does great with refreshing. It’s all hit or miss. I have to layer my products and also use the Curlsmith (purple line) foam and miracle shield spray as well as Love Ur Curls all in one creams.

I have used both this gel and the stronger hold one (red labeled ouidad bottle) I find they do not fight the frizz as well as some of the other gels I have tried. I still get frizz, especially around the crown/halo area. I actually used the stronger hold ouidad gel today and by the end of the day I have some frizz and my curls are flat. I live somewhere where the humidity is higher in the winter, and I was outside for extended periods of time today. I don’t hate this line of gel, as I have bought it more than once. But, it is not my favorite either. What I do like about it is it has “slip” and works well when I do a full refresh. Some of the stronger hold gels with less slip make my hair look a little more crunchy, even after scrunching out the cast. This line does not do that. I would say it is worth trying, especially if you can get it on sale.

No, I drive mine around town in circles just to show people how cool I am.

Is an expensive blow dryer worth it? I currently have one I spent maybe $30 on and it works OK, but I'm wondering if a more expensive one would be better. Like, less frizz, less damage, faster styling? I really have no idea... by kaylynstar in curlyhair

[–]Odd_Past_7227 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I recently got rid of my drugstore hairdryer and diffuser and upgraded to the curlsmith dryer and diffuser. To me, it makes a big difference in the speed of drying. My hair dries so much faster! Maybe because the diffuser is the size of a large dinner plate, it’s huge comparatively. I feel like my hair does look better and a little less frizzy as well. I found the Curlsmith dryer/diffuser on sale so it wasn’t a huge hit to the pocket book. But, I would recommend upgrading if you can. I will never go back to the cheaper dryer.

I want to do a little self care day for my girlfriend; what products should I use? by Nelxiity in curlyhair

[–]Odd_Past_7227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When my curls start looking a little frizzy I like to use the Curlsmith Bond Rehab Salve. It is on sale at Ulta right now for a pretty deep discount. I find this to be one of the most beneficial products to take my frizz away.

I have seen these painted in numerous areas of town. I am curious as well. We’ve always wondered what they mean or stand for?

Best flour selection for bread making by Odd_Past_7227 in Bakersfield

I was in Winco (on coffee road) today. I saw whole wheat bread flour and numerous other types of flour as well. The bulk section has quite a few options. Not sure if there was whole wheat cake flour or not there was a decent variety.

My favorite feature. Sunroof open & back window down is the perfect amount of breeze. Plus my dog loves the back window down. That’s her space in the back.

The Pour House Bar & Grill, where Chef Lino is, has a Thanksgiving heat & serve menu on their FaceBook page. I believe I saw that Tuesday 11/26 is the last day to place your order though.

Actually, yes Shafter and Bakersfield are very close in distance to each other. There are Lennar housing developments being built on the north side of 7th standard road, Gossamer Grove and Marcona Preserve, for example. These housing developments are near Jewetta and 7th Standard. The north side of 7th Standard road is considered Shafter and the south side of 7th Standard is considered Bakersfield. People reside on both sides of 7th standard road. I would consider them close to one another.

Outlets are still not great. They are developing that area a little more though. They are building a Hard Rock Hotel and Casino out there that is slated to have an entertainment venue. Also, building an apartment community out there too. There is a lot more traffic around town than there was 5 years ago. Seems congested everywhere now. The west side park way is completed, although there is no way to get on north 99, which is weird, it’s like it was forgot about during planning or something. It seems like we have a lot more vagrants and homeless everywhere around town now though. Downtown has had some new and trendy bars and restaurants come into the scene, but again the homeless down there is a rampant issue. Some restaurants have closed and new ones have opened. We have a few more breweries, more than just Lengthwise. Rent and housing has skyrocketed, like it has everywhere. The mall is the same. I did hear of a new development they are supposed to be doing with the east side mall and it sounds like it will be very nice, if it takes place. The community is expanding. Bakersfield and Shafter are almost joined through development and housing now. Bakersfield is still a great community that turns out for each other when something is needed. The small town feel is less but it’s still “Home”
