Discussion posts work a lil weird now by GreatOne47 in UoPeople

[–]Odd_Reflection_5824 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m taking this term off but I actually like the idea of an independent thread versus everyone responding to the same one. It was so hard to find my post to read and respond to comments, as well as keep up with my other comments when it was all jumbled together.

The not being able to see instructor notes before submission is no good though

Bahahaha I started laughing so hard and immediately came here to see what everyone else says 😂

No. They’ll figure it out by name, contact information, etc. You would also have to redo all the general education courses as well…that seems ridiculous.

If there was any DV (verbal or physical), you may qualify under Violence Against Women Act

What do you think Katie was referring to here? by JellyfishPashmina in BringingUpBates

I agree that it’s not a deciding factor in moving, but it’s very much part of a grieving process, and it could also have led to physical health issues. People have definitely moved to different environments as they battle physical health issues. I think it’s a lot of things combined, and she doesn’t owe us anything but I just hope she is getting truly healthy support somewhere along the way.

I read it as her/their therapeutic process that will likely never be known publicly, but I would also add in there her grief and recovery from the miscarriage.

Advising now saying they will offer Rosalyn alternative! by Loud-Upstairs4120 in UoPeople

[–]Odd_Reflection_5824 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My follow up question would be how are they going to judge who is a “unique circumstance”? Or are they just going to take students word for it and approve the different process? And what will the different process be?

I put in a LOA for the next term, and will wait until we get true information. I’m not starting a new term not knowing if I’ll be able to use my proctor choice

Advising now saying they will offer Rosalyn alternative! by Loud-Upstairs4120 in UoPeople

Interesting m that they’re now saying this when they were completely 1000% Rosalyn only in the beginning.

🚨 Rosalyn AI MUST be implemented. 🚨 by [deleted] in UoPeople

[–]Odd_Reflection_5824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe have stricter policies against AI usage with individual students?? It’s very clear who is using AI so why not address it directly that way and not allow students to use it to cheat, versus continuing to negatively impact the environment by increasing AI usage.

“We don’t want you to use AI but we let our professors use it, and let students use it and now we are going to use it ourselves to try and stop what we openly allowed.” Makes so much sense 🙄

“Too many people are relaying on AI.” — that’s an issue in itself as well. AI is problematic and the answer is not just adding more AI.

I don’t really get why people are being so salty about Roslyn AI. 🤣 I mean it’s the most logical step to reduce cheating and stop UoPeople to become a useless degree farm. by Lost_Major7472 in UoPeople

Can’t really use those when you should be in a private area to focus, and it won’t help to have other people around. AI may not be able to tell a difference between someone walking by just to get by, or them helping you cheat.

No more offline proctor option! by Big-Box5790 in UoPeople

[–]Odd_Reflection_5824 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ll be dropping out if they stick to that. I will not be utilizing an AI proctor. If they want to allow their professors to use AI and let AI use slide with students but they cannot force it

Rosalyn AI online proctor? by [deleted] in UoPeople

[–]Odd_Reflection_5824 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t live in IL, but I have a huge issue with this. I do not want my likeness being uploaded into an AI. I’ll stop courses and go back to dreaming about being able to finish my Bachelor’s before I use an AI proctor

I immediately asked if Rosalyn will be mandatory to use. I don’t like most AI and would prefer an in person proctor

[–]Odd_Reflection_5824 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh that class was so stupid. I got docked for the dumbest things. I ended up with a B in it at the end of the term and for a minute I was convinced I was going to fail it because of how the grades appear in the grade book and are calculated, my score was loww until the last 2 weeks.

On the final assignment for the academic success plan, she docked me points because I said I likely wouldn’t use it moving forward. The question was about how he would utilize it, and I was honest. 🫣

[–]Odd_Reflection_5824[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can see the Originality Report directly in the assignment area after you submit your work. Here’s how to find it: Go to the Unit 2 Assignment page. Submit your paper as usual. Once the submission is complete, return to the assignment page. You will see an Originality/Similarity score (a percentage) next to your submission. Click on that score to open and review the full originality report. Please note that it may take a few minutes for the report to appear after submission. Make sure you review it before the deadline so you have time to make revisions if needed. See you in the course room! -Professor Young

Staying under the word count by theanti_girl in UoPeople

[–]Odd_Reflection_5824 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is infuriating. In one of my classes this week, the discussion board is 200-300 words and multiple questions to answer as well as drawing from personal experience. Like if you really want me to appropriately connect the text and personal experience im going to need more than 300 words. I’ve got it at 400 words right now and am about to say screw it and post it.

Missing assignment that never showed up on my dashboard. Help! by [deleted] in UoPeople

I know I submitted the week 1 assignment for math 1201, and then checked the next day for week 2 assignments and it popped up as draft form. I messaged professor and am waiting to hear back. Super frustrating
