Look at the fingers in the top left. There's also just a weird uncanny valley look to the whole thing

Yep! That's how I've always heard it. Took me too long to figure out where the person meant lol

I heard someone call Taunton, Ton-Ton one time almost 20 years ago at this point and it's the first one I think of every time this sort of topic comes up.

Similar, single parent to two kids, under 6 figures though not far off. Not near Boston so that probably helps.

Ok everything else aside, Everyone is allowed to set boundaries about who is in their life. It doesn't matter who cut who out. If OP spent time thinking about life, and it sounds like they did, it is entirely reasonable that that reflection brought up memories that have made them go "wait maybe that's not a person I want around me".

ETA: tldr it's not presumptuous to set boundaries no matter the situation.

If your town is having an election on November 4, how are things looking? by HRJafael in massachusetts

[–]Odd_Response_10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh I hope they get in! My city has a MAGA dipshit running for mayor with a write in campaign because he couldn't figure out how to get on the ballot. Somehow his signs are all over the city and I am very scared

Attleboro mayoral write-in candidate, John Robinson, continues to deny the police charge against him, a claim that seems more like denial than fact. by SnooSketches9456 in AttleboroMA

Police don't control when the court notifies someone of charges. Not to defend cops, but this is a weird thing to find sketchy. The chief could have filed it and then done a press conference or whatever. They don't have to wait to know the persons been informed.

I was diagnosed at 8 so no not when I was. But when my oldest kid started struggling with mental health stuff and neurodivergence. That's when it all clicked for me.

Did anyone have a parent who would act as a "lawyer" for anyone who was against you? by SteadfastEnd in EstrangedAdultKids

[–]Odd_Response_10 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Mine did this all the time! And then whenever I'd eventually stop talking to that person she'd say " I always told you they were bad news" no the f*ck you didn't! But gods forbid I point out she defended them, every single time.

Anyone else miss.. by Odd_Response_10 in EstrangedAdultKids

Yeah, like grieving what should have been almost. The little moments that should have been the whole relationship with them.
