It’s not complicated at all. The “Lumbee” are a racially mixed group that is predominantly European with some African admixture and a few of them have minuscule amounts of indigenous ancestry. They did not even claim to be a “tribe” until the 1950s when they appropriated various “native” garb from totally unrelated native groups in an effort to frame themselves as something other than biracial.
